Wellness vs. Wellness Core
I usually feed Wellness Core, but I can only find it at a store that's somewhat out of my way. My crew does great on it, and this has been one of the few diets that all 3 have maintained an excellent weight. I bought regular Wellness (purple bag) the last 2 times because I stopped at another store...

Merrick Wilderness Blend- your thoughts?
We're thinking of switching Apollo's food from Canidae ALS regular formula to Merrick Wilderness Blend. Nutrition guru's, what are your thoughts? Good? Bad? Anyone feed Merrick dry? Here's their website , and here's the information: The wilderness - it’s the call of the wild...

4-H Obedience?
I have a few questions pertaining to showing in 4-H if anyone here has been involved in it. I've never even been involved in anything 4-H but my FFA chapter is competing in their fair this year and I'm VERY interested in showing in obedience and/or agility (not sure if this fair has agility)...

Healthy Treats for sensitive tummy
Can anyone recommend a treat for a dog with a sensitive belly. He tends to get a tummy ache if I give him more than a few treats. I clipped his nails last night and had a handful of treats to feed him for being a good boy. He got an upset belly during the night and woke me needing to out. This is the...

Non raw teeth cleaning chews
I keep trying RMBs for my guys for the purposes of teeth cleaning (considering their ages, 13, almost 10 and 7) their teeth have only a tiny line of plaque on them. I do brush and maintain them as much as I can. However, I like giving them something to chew on. Every time I try to go raw with them...

Chicken wing swallowed whole...any concerns??
I've read this happens a lot, and I'm not too terribly worried. But the big guy, Rivers, just had a try out with his first chicken wing, he gave it 3 smacks and down it went! Any need to worry?? The wing still had the skin on it, is this alright??

Starting over with Maze
So I'm going back to the basics with Maze. For a couple reasons. One is to help her with her fear problem. And the other is to get her to switch sides and proof the basics. I trained her to be on my right side before I even thought about entering in Rally O. Now that I want to, I've noticed that...

Can allergies "vanish"?
Maze has always had adverse reactions to chicken, wheat and grain. But a couple months ago I was feeding them Evo red meat since that's all I had left and didn't want to waste a bag of food and Maze didn't scratch more then usual. She's got dry skin but that's normal for her around...

Pep's Poultry
Has anyone ever heard of this place or ordered from there? The meat is so unbelievably cheap. I think I remember the owner telling me a while back that the animals are grass-fed, but for some reason I'm still wary. I wish they had photos of their farm or something on the site, but the site itself...

Large breed foods?
Why do all large breed foods seem to be chicken? I would rather feed lamb. Any body know of any brands that are lamb and have a good source of Glucosamine? Thanks

Jessie has less gray hair
Wish I did too; anyway, we were walking at the park a few days ago when we saw Sunny and her mom. Sunny is a Lab and a good buddy of Jessie's. We hadn't seen them in several months; most people here don't walk their dogs in the winter. Sunny's mom commented about how good Jessie looked...

Rotating Recipes
I am in the midst of transitioning from a 50/50 mix of Eagle Pack Holistic/TOTW to 100% TOTW. What I'd like to do is rotate between the recipes of that brand, maybe every couple of bags or so. My thought is because its the same brand, just a different recipe that I don't need to worry about...

Those who feed raw,
Is there anything wrong with always feeding my dog frozen raw? I had no time to defrost her dinner today so I just gave her raw chicken breast including the bones completely froze n. She seemed not to mind it at all and finished it in seconds. It would be great if I could feed her frozen all the time...

Intro to Agility Fun
I got a nearly two year old belgian back from one of my litters a couple weeks ago. She seemed like she had a lot of potential for agility, so I thought I'd work on it a bit while I look for a home for her. So we went to a Intro class yesterday and gave it a try - she did great! She especially seemed...

Fresh food feeders, does your dogs weight fluctuate..
pretty easily?? Since starting my 19mnth old dog on fresh foods nearly 6-7mnths ago, he's fluctuated from 53 down to 51, back to 52.8 a month ago, and now he's at 55#.....nothing too extreme, he's right where he should be, but I definitely don't want him over 56# perhaps. He's...

Is it safe to feed my poodle tuna?
I had one steak of tuna in the freezer and decided to grill it for my poodle. She loved it, but I didnt' feed her the whole steak at once. I feed her about 2 tablespoon of tuna each day for the last 3 days. I'm just wondering if it's harmful to feed dogs tuna due to mercury level. I still...

Beef Available NC/SoCentral VA
Mods please move this with my apologies if it doesn't go here. A friend is culling two calves from her hormone-free, antibiotic free freezer beef herd. We are trying to get together a group of people to share this meat. She's only asking $1.07/lb live weight (all-natural beef is going for between...
