Can I ever win?
Posted to:

So, over the weekend I cleaned up my room. It needed to be done anyway, but after Max tore up a big stuffed turtle friday night, it was even more desperate, as there was stuffing across the floor from wall to wall. So, I cleaned the whole room, got rid of stuff, reorganized, moved the breakable stuff...

Shaking head....
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
Simba this past couple of weeks has been shaking his head constantly, you know the way dogs do when that are wet. Everytime he stands up or walks around he shakes like he has something in his ears that he wants out, and also i notice that when he sits and looks at me his right ear seems to be further...

Mother, who is 82, has been having a problem for the past several months with getting really short of breath. She went to see her cardiologist early and had a number of tests done.....then went yesterday to have the cardiac catherization done. The good news is that her arteries in the heart all clean...

14 wk puppy soiling crate
Posted to:
Training & Behavior
I have a what I believe to be a 14-week-old English Spriger Spaniel/Border Collie Mix that I adopted from a local animal shelter 4 weeks ago. Piper is as house trained as any dog can be at this age: when accidents occur, they are my mistake. She can go 6-7 hours in the crate at night without an accident...

Video clip of Scout heeling off leash

We went to a rally workshop tonight to do course run throughs. They set up a novice course first which we scored an 87/100. If he got that in a competition he'd earn a leg! They also set up and advanced course and then an excellent course. We did both of these and off lead. We couldn't perform...

"Sit" Brag >^_^<

Well, now that I've taught Shippo to NOT spaz out around treats (He liked to jump all over me and try to get the treat out of my hand etc. so I had to teach him that he doesn't get anything at all till he is calm), I finally started in on "Sit" today. One ten-minute session and he's...

These were taken a few weeks ago when we still had snow. I was just snapping away as he ran around like a mad man. There will be five total, I'll probably have to put them in separate posts. Enjoy! Wheeee!

Crate Training concern
Posted to:
Training & Behavior
Hello I have a 3 month old Silky Terrier puppy. We have been working on crate training him. I know a schedule is important so this is what I have been doing every day: Take him out first thing in the morning, feed him breakfast, back outside, back in crate while I get ready for work and out once again...

Marking during or after eating

I'm wondering if anyone has ever experienced this behavior before? A light went off tonight that this is very likely intentional when I never even considered it would be ! My 5yr old intact male will leave a few drops during or after eating. This has gone on for over a year, completely random...

chewing his paws/legs

Hello everyone! Chase has been gnawing on his extremities lately. He'll chew on his paws, legs and penis. There's no hair loss or injuries, but it kind of bugs me that he's doing this. I'm afraid that it might become an obssessive/compulsive behaviour. I don't know if I should...

I have a one year old Jack/Doxi named Orion. we had decided that when he was a year that we would get a second puppy as a companion for Orion, we felt bad for leaving him alone when we are gone durning the day. They seem to be getting along however, Orion has decided that every morning he wants to...

TICK!!!!

again - I HATE TICKS and they are bad this year as the winter wasn't cold enough to help kill them off. Why don't they make a Frontline for people? As I was showering this morning I noticed a slightly sore spot located on my pelvic region (more than that and it'll be too much info). Didn't...
