    Crate Training concern

    Hello
I have a 3 month old Silky Terrier puppy. We have been working on crate training him. I know a schedule is important so this is what I have been doing every day: Take him out first thing in the morning, feed him breakfast, back outside, back in crate while I get ready for work and out once again before I leave and a short walk. At lunch I come home and do the same thing, and then come home at 5pm, go outside, dinner, outside, playtime, then back in crate. I try and give him free time right after going outside but I have to constantly watch him. My only concern is that he is in the crate too much. I feel so bad when I have to put him back in the crate even though he does not cry that much anymore when I do put him in there except at lunch when I know he still wants to play. Is it ok to keep a puppy in a crate for this amount of time? Thank-you!

You are doing great!  Keep doing EXACTLY what you are doing everyday for the next 3 months.

Don't doubt yourself...you are doing a MUCH better job than most!
