Well, now that I've taught Shippo to NOT spaz out around treats (He liked to jump all over me and try to get the treat out of my hand etc. so I had to teach him that he doesn't get anything at all till he is calm), I finally started in on "Sit" today. One ten-minute session and he's already getting the hang of it! Boy am I proud of him. >^_^<
Basically, I'd just start walking around so he'd follow me, then I'd stop and say "sit", wait till he calmed down and sat, then give treat and praise. I also waddled around the floor on my knees and give the command, as well as just sitting on the floor giving it. He was slow to do it the first few times, but then he caught on quick, and sat faster and faster after the command. >^_^<
I think things will go uphill from here. By the time he's into puppy classes he'll already know "come", "sit", "lie down", and possibly "stay." *Dances around* I just HAD to ramble to somebody about it before I went to bed. >^_____^<
