I am planning to have a party next month to celebrate the anniversary of Abbi's arrival into our home. Abbi loves all people and dogs so I am not worried about that but I am looking for any creative ideas that any of you have. Maybe a recipe for a doggie cake... So far I was thinking about invitations...

The dog that we found at work last week is up on Petfinder! The pictures really don't do him justice at all. He is a beautiful dog. Even though he has floppy ears, when he moves, he definitely looks like he has some wolf in there. Its really hard to see from the pictures, but everyone at work saw...

Ugh as if I really needed this right now!!! Last week my gardeners came like usual. I was out running errands and I left the dogs in the house. When I got home I let them out back to potty and got my daughter a snack. When I went to let them back in, they were gone! Turns out the gardeners didn't...

On AOL news, article about all the people calling the FDA, which has NOT started any kind of data base for recording illness/deaths/inquiries. Has been over 4000 calls. Anway, that particular poison, in high dosage (and what is considered high?) causes crystals to form in tiny tubes in the kidneys and...

Debate: Are dogs carnivores or omnivores?
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
This topic came up in another thread and I find it very interesting. I've seen documentaries which point out the back molars of a dog and say that this is an indication that the dog is not a pure carnivore. The dog has a kind of "vegitation" grinding surface to deal with vegatable matter...

EVERY Nutro canned product recalled?
Posted to:
Nutrition & Exercise
I went to two Petsmart stores today looking for something and noticed that there wasn't a single can of Nutro. At the second store there was a Nutro rep so I asked him and he said Nutro's recall included everything - but Nutro's site still says 'cuts and gravy' style. Regardless,...

Behaviour at the dog park

My younger female Aussie gets along pretty well with my older Aussie/BC mix, who's a lot bigger than her (30lbs vs. 60lbs). She does try to rule the roost with him and they get mouthy with each other and rough house a lot, but they've never gotten in any serious dog fights. They steal toys from...
