What do you think of this guys website/trainer??

A friend of mine is a pet photographer and is going to get to know a dog trainer as a Ill scratch your back you scratch mine kind of relationship when it comes to client recommendations.

He sent me the link to the trainers website, and I don't know, maybe Im being too critical (with really no major reason to care) but I feel like I don't see anything concrete here about his methods, etc.

    What do you think?

Well, that may be one of the worst commercial web sites I've ever seen. I hope he didn't pay anyone to do that for him

If I were looking for a dog trainer, I'd want to see some qualifications, a description of experience (professional experience in particular), and some references. An overall training philosophy would be nice though it's really hard to encapsulize good dog training - you either have to say way too little or way too much. A good alternative might be a listing of mentors, recommended reading, and personal accomplishments. And always references and testimonials.

I don't know this guy, but from the website he sounds like a rookie.  I probably wouldn't involve myself with him...If I were your friend I would tell him to get some years of experience under his belt and then maybe they should talk.

Totally agree.  Anyone can call themselves a dog trainer and this site says nothing about the trainer and his qualifications, his experience, methods used, personal accomplishtments, his philosophies, education, or mentors.

that looks to me like a "rough draft" of a website - perhaps its still a work in progress

well.....maybe he makes up with traning skill what he lacks in the aesthetics and communications dept, if so, the guy must be pretty good.

Wowzer!  His definition of dog training is "to have control over your dog at all times".   Call me silly, but if your dog is trained properly, you don't NEED to have control over him at all times.  He should be able to be off leash when appropriate, respond to your commands, etc.

I do see a choke chain hiding in that equipment picture, so I guess that's how he "controls the dog at all times"! [;)]

It's a rambling website that makes nothing clear.  Blatantly missing are his qualifications. [&:]
