time for another switch

So Zoe has basically decided she's gonna stop eating Innova kibble. It's a shame because she was doing so well on it - perfect poops and nice coat and all. I had switched her to NB ultra premium and she loooved it, and her coat became even softer. But it made her a bit constipated. So I tried...

Partially blind cat?
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
One of my cats has strange marks in his eyes. My vet says he's never seen anything quite like it. He said that these marks are on the lenses, but they are NOT cataracts. They look nothing like cataracts, and my cat has always had them, ever since we found him as a very young stray. He's almost...

We have another kitten
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
So another kitten has found its way to our home. I sometimes wonder, do we have a "Strays Welcome" sign at our house? All kinds of animals show up, and like this kitten, everyone always asks if we can take a stray. Well yesterday my sisters friend comes over and shes telling us how her aunt...

Whether you agree or not, I find Pam Dennison's willingness to take a stand pretty definitively to be a plus. Not wishy washy. http://www.positivedogs.com/index.htm (Click on Articles)

Looking for couch in all the wrong places
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
I have no furniture in the livingroom. Why? Because: 1. I love leather - can't afford leather. 2. Fabric just does not stand up under the insult of three rhodesian ridgebacks and two cats with claws. 3. I am too cheap to shell out $1000+ for furniture and I don't want to make more credit...

With regards to "food aggression"
Posted to:
Training & Behavior
Maybe I am in the minority here but..... My dog allows me to mess with her while she eats, pretend to eat her food, etc, because I'm top of the "pack" If the cats sniff or eat her food, she grunts and grumbles and stands next to them, but does nothing. However, if another dog tries...

Update on Ace's cherry eye
Posted to:
Health & Grooming
Well he saw the vet today and things are ok. He gave us some antibiotic/cortizone cream to reduce the swelling and prevent infection and we have decided to do the surgery when he is neutered in a few months. The vet felt there was no emergency and that as long as it is kept clean and we put the cream...

So did you watch Planet Earth last night??

I did - all 3 episodes - and it was AWESOME! The photography was absolutely amazing! The clarity was incredible, even though I don't pay for Hi Def (we have a high-def Plasma TV though). I was in total awe at the snow leopard, and watching the ocean rays doing their acrobatics and ballet dances...

What should we do?
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
A few months ago we rescued a toy rat terrier (Gia) from a girl who purchased her from an amish puppy mill and wasn't able to take care of her. She is about 11 months old now. We had her for a couple of months and then found her a home that we thought would be perfect. They had another small dog...
