    From purina

I got this e-mail from purina a couple of days ago, but wasn't going to post because I know so many here do not like Purina.  I didn't write them, they just sent it.  it seems that at some time i signed up to get news letters from them or something---maybe when i called to asked some questions about the 4-D, etc, etc.  Anyway, this is what i got from them.  It seems the Mighty Dog pouches were the only Purina food made at Menu--in fact made outside of a Purina owned plant (according to the questsions and answers in the one link they give at the bottom)   We been talking where different foods were made, well this is purina's answer without me asking for it.

An Update from Nestle Purina PetCare Company About the Menu
    Foods Recall - March 23, 2007

We at Nestle Purina PetCare Company know the reports of pet food
recalls and withdrawals over the past week have been very
concerning and at times confusing for pet owners, who want to
ensure the safety of the food they are feeding their beloved pets.

We want to take this opportunity to reassure you that Mighty Dog
pouch products are the ONLY Purina(r) brand products affected by
Menu Foods' recall. Nestle Purina stands behind the high-quality
of our pet foods, and all Purina brand cat food products and all
other Purina brand dog food products, including Mighty Dog
canned products, can continue to be fed to your pets with
    complete confidence.

On Friday, March 16, Nestle Purina PetCare issued its press
release announcing the voluntary withdrawal of our Mighty Dog(r)
brand pouch-packaged products that were produced by Menu Foods
from Dec. 3, 2006, through March 14, 2007. While we had no
indication of any product quality or safety issues specifically
related to our Mighty Dog pouch products at that time, we are
proactively withdrawing these products as a precautionary
measure, because the well-being of pets and the safety and
efficacy of our products are our top priorities.

It is still horrible food, no matter what they say...

It may be horrible for your dog, but it is great for mine. But the point is they are making their food in their own plants except for the Mighty Dog pouches, and i gather they plan to  expand to make it as well.  We were trying to find out where all the different foods are made. So I posted where my choice of food is made.  At least they will tell where their food is made and that is more than some of the  preminum will do.

I'm glad you posted it Sandra.  There are tons of people who feed some sort of Purina product and I'm sure they will find the info helpful.

Thanks   I just knew we had been talking about where  the different foods were made and since they sent me this e-mail i thought i would add it to the mix of what is made where.  I wasn't posting to try to get anyone to tell me how great it is that they make food in their own plants, or tell me what a terrible food it is--just wanted to add it to what is made where.
