my husky mix

Choosing A Dog
Miya is a husky/gsd mix, but I'm asking about the husky part of her. She's been vomiting the past few weeks maybe once every few days but she doesn't act sick or anything. Someone told me that huskies tend to eat more than they can digest and that may be why she's throwing up, if she...

Young dog hassles other dogs

Hi everyone, I'm new! I have a 6 month old shepherd mix. We got her 2 months ago from a shelter and she is wonderful! Our problem is that she gets worked up when other dogs don't pay attention to her. For example, we took her to our friend's house and they have an older lab who doesn't...

Frontline and bathing
Posted to:
Health & Grooming
I hope this is the right place to put this. Anyway, I gave my dog his monthly Frontline treatment this afternoon. However, I just realized how disgusting he is and I really want to bathe him. I can't find anywhere in the directions that talks about amount of time to wait before the dog can get...

Standing up for herself
Posted to:
Training & Behavior
Hi everyone, just a question about my five month old Swissie, Rita. She seems completely unwilling to stand up for herself! If ever a dog is picking on her or playing too rough, I can visibly see she doesn't like it (constantly walking away from the dog, squirming to get away if she's pinned...

Bull Dog Problems
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
My girl friend just rescued a bulldog from the humane society and he seems horribly depressed. So far he's just been so lethargic. We're taking him to the vet soon, but are hoping that he's just having some problems adjusting to his new environment. Any suggestions? --------------------...

It's a Brand New Day
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
It's after midnight, so, thankfully, it is no longer "the day Dancer died". Instead, it's Sequoyah's first birthday. The "little speckled monster" is one year old today. She started life in this house at ten weeks old, by rounding a corner and coming face to face with...

HELP! Skunked

By Golly, Miss Molly has done it this time and I'm the one in the dog house. Suddenly we have too many dogs and it's all my fault. Read on the net that douche will get the smell out and my hubby and the one son left at home refuses to buy 6 to 10 boxes of the stuff. I have to stay home and wait...

Can't keep the food down!
Posted to:
Health & Grooming
This just started this morning after I took Cyrus out for his walk...I gave him breakfast (about half a cup of kibble), and about twenty minutes later, he puked it all up on our carpet. When I gave him his second meal of the day, I had to change the bedding in his crate, because he puked that up, too...

Puppy Jubilee - Good or Bad?

Hello! My puppy gets really excited when we let him out of his crate and play with him. I enjoy playing with him [ ]! He has a tendency to try to jump on you when he's excited. It doesn't really bother me but I can see how this could be a problem when he gets older. Its also my fault that...

I just bought Winston a bag of Innova puppy to try out. He's been on Canidae ALS for over a month now and has been doing alright, but he's not particularly excited about his food. I also want to switch every bag to provide a more balanced diet and variety . . . I've done some reading and...

Rose eats Bil-Jac Select, which is chicken based and does great on it! I don't really want to change her. Thats not the problem. I also mix some canned EaglePack into her food. When I used the Chicken Mixer, she had terrible gas. Last night, I gave her some chicken liver in her food and today she...

Angel/Forepaws - Bogey's much better!
Posted to:
Health & Grooming
Well, I gave Bogey boiled chicken and rice for dinner last night - she loved it. I didn't even put any chicken broth in it. She inhaled it. I had to pull the bowl away a couple times to get her to slow down. But we went for a walk after dinner and she had a poo and it was at least formed like normal...
