    my husky mix

Miya is a husky/gsd mix, but I'm asking about the husky part of her.  She's been vomiting the past few weeks maybe once every few days but she doesn't act sick or anything.
Someone told me that huskies tend to eat more than they can digest and that may be why she's throwing up, if she ate too much.
Also she's started eating the small acorns that the squirrels have been throwing on the ground the past few weeks and several times when she's vomited it was full of acorn bits.  I try to get her to stop eating them when I catch her thinking that's what's making her sick.

some info on her, she's about 6 months old, active (we spend about 2 hours at the dog park almost every day, plus she plays with our chi at home), and she's on large breed puppy food.

    thanks for any feedback.

You should post this in the health forum.  That is a cute husky btw.

At six monthes old sometimes they do eat weird things, but acorns will not doubt be very irritating to the digestive tract.  I would certainly discourage it.  Bring something like treats chew toy anything that will distract your baby from those things.

Also, you should do regular checkups with the vet.  Make sure the pups systems are good.  Sometimes they are telling you that they need something else in the diet when they do that.  Or like the crunching...Fruits and vegies - fresh are good for them.  My male husky eats sticks.  Used to throw up.  I limit the feedings.  1cup Canidae/with water absorbed, 3X per day.  They are growing nicely on this formula.  Also, pet vitamins are not a bad idea with all of the development going on in the pups.  (talk to the vet about this stuff) And best to you and that adorable puppy!  [:)]

thanks.  I know she does love chewing.  She loves her bones, chewing sticks, anything.  Luckily she doesn't shew the furniture or anything of ours.  If I would allow sticks in the apartment i wouldn't have to worry about buying bones for her!
I definitely discourage her eating the acorns whenever I catch her, but it's hard when she's at the dog park and i can't get up to her in time.
Thanks for the input though.  I'll post this in the health forum.

Huskies have a tendency to swallow food  without properly chewing it. Had a female that did that, sometimes she would just inhale her food and later she would throw up, and then she would nibble at it. Also, please be sure she doesn't eat things that could really make her sick.[;)]
