Can't keep the food down!

This just started this morning after I took Cyrus out for his walk...I gave him breakfast (about half a cup of kibble), and about twenty minutes later, he puked it all up on our carpet. When I gave him his second meal of the day, I had to change the bedding in his crate, because he puked that up, too.

I am now afraid to give him his third (and final meal for the day). I hesitate to take him to the vet; his appetite seems fine, he has been very active today, running about with his toys, playing with other dogs and whatnot. No signs of lethargy whatsoever, and there was nothing in the puke but the kibble and stomach fluids.

He did not eat anything "funny" today. All he has had is water and the kibble. The only "extra" that he is getting is an antibiotic (drops for his ears...he has an infection). I was wondering if it was possible that he was scratching at his ears after the drops were administered, and then licking his paws, or something...?

I think I'd try giving a fraction of what you normally feed and see if he can keep that down. If not, then I'd take him to the vet tomorrow. It could be some type of partial blockage that's not allowing the food to digest properly. If you have some hamburger or chicken you could boil, I'd give a small amount of that tonight. If you have rice, you could cook that and add it to the meat too. If you do, be sure to cook the rice until it's almost a mush consistency. I'd stick with small amounts of whatever you use though until you see that he's able to hold his food down. Poor guy, I hope he feels better.

I would be thinking that the antibiotic was not agreeing with him.

Thanks a lot for the replies! The ear infection was from an allergy that we were unaware he had developed to beef, beef bones, etc. Should I be talking to the vet about discontinuing the antibiotic, just to be sure? If it is the antibiotic, it does not seem to be making him drowsy, lethargic, or anything, he is just puking up anything that we give him.

He has about two days more to go on the medication...would it be unwise to try and simply ride those two days out?
