Chains with a lock
Posted to:
Training & Behavior
I was watching the CM marathon the other day and they had this nice young man with an out of control pit bull named Justice. The kid had a huge chain with a lock around his neck as the collar and a smaller chain as the leash. I don't know why but this bugged me, it looked heavy. Cesar made some comment...

Puppy eating/playing with his own poop
Posted to:
Training & Behavior
We have a 5 month old Scottie and he has been eating or at least playing with his own poop (BAD breath!). We have tried "Forbid" powder we received from the vet, but this did not seem to change his behaviour. He gets a premium dog food, so I don't think it is vitamin deficiency. When we...

Why NOT neuter?
Posted to:
Health & Grooming
Has anyone NOT neutered/spayed their dogs? If so why? My dog is 1 year old and is not neutered. I've seen enough arguments to WHY TO to it, I need to see WHY NOT. P.S. That's besides the fact that you want to show or breed your dogs.

Off leash fun...HOW?
Posted to:
Training & Behavior
We are NOT at this point yet...but i wonder what the training strategy is to have a dog able to walk loose with their person ...in an appropriate area like ones own land. My new rescue dog is a 3 yr Lab/ doberman (rotti?) / mix, and we are working on other issues like dog aggression (not a good thing...

Since getting my TT about 6 weeks ago, I cannot tell you how much $ I've spent on toys, treats, bedding, crates, collars etc. It's always a disappointment when you buy something that doesn't work right or that the dog simply doesn't like. (I know, save it and donate it to rescue, which...

Begging and food stealing
Posted to:
Nutrition & Exercise
Winnie has become a little porker - an annoying little porker. For one, she's about 2 lbs overweight, which we're trying to deal with by increased exercise and a switch from Innova puppy to Innova adult. She's become a little beggar, which surprises me because aside from carrots and ice...
