Posted to:
Health & Grooming

What attracts a flea to your pet is the odor emitted through the skin caused by toxins, chemicals and additives...

Just wondering if my puppy will have to stay overnight after being neutered? My two females did but that was 12 yrs ago. Someone told me that they picked up their female the same day after bing spayed? My pup will get it done next month sometime.

I just found this web site that I think is very interesting. I have not read the entire thing yet, because it is very long, but I would really appreciate if other members on here (especially those experienced with feeding raw or homecooked to their dogs) would read it also and offer your opinions on...

my poodle jumps, barks and bites me when i am preparing his dinner. he knows he has to wait, but it is so hard for him. i make him sit before he gets to eat and he is fine with this. however, he gets so excited when he sees his bowl and food on the counter, he seems to be unable to control himself. i...

Can you change a dog's name?
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
If I rescue a dog, can I change it's name? C.M. says that names are basically a human need, not a dog's. I assume I can get a dog accustomed to a new name.

"all possitive" question
Posted to:
Training & Behavior
First off, I'm NOT trying to bait anyone and start a discussion about the effectiveness or lack thereof of any particular method. I've always been curious about something, in the operant conditioning world, when, if ever, and how are corrections used? The way it's been explained to me...

3 pound acrobat

I just finished grooming (or mostly grooming) my three pound poodle. How do you guys handle a dog that small?! There's no place to hold on to and this one is an acrobat. Forget the noose. She jumped onto my shoulder and I had to drop the clippers (or her so I opted for the clippers). Most of...

New baby on the way - how to prepare?
Posted to:
Training & Behavior
Hi there, I am new to this forum and have our first human baby on the way in March. What can we do to prepare our fur baby for her arrival? We know to let her smell all the baby's new things and even the blanket that my DH can bring home early from the hospital. Anything else you can think of?
