Awesome news -- Trixie has been FOUND OK!!

TEAR JERKER W/HAPPY ENDING!!!! I'm SO glad I'm wrong on this one -- I posted a little item in the Rainbow Bridge section about a little poodle-mix named Trixie who adamantly woke her owners to warn them of the impending tornado earlier this week. She just wouldn't take 'no' for...

My Update after meeting with the Gyn/Oncologist
Posted to:
Life Stages
I really like the Gyn/Oncologist I met with today. He's probably all of 30-35, tall and gangly, but very nice and I felt a sense of trust immediately. He also seemed more realistic and less pessimistic than any other Gyn I've seen. He said that we should repeat the CA 125 in 2 weeks and IF it's...

Affection vs pack leader
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
I feel like such an idiot when it comes to this puppy.... I have never had a dog. My husband had labs growing up so he is used to them. I have watch the dog whisperer and found it interesting. My question is how do you completely love your dog and give it affection without giving it the authority? Does...

What is the best thing you ever learned in a group class?
Posted to:
Nutrition & Exercise
I am looking for a thread that may help me add more things to the classes I teach. So, what is the best thing your ever learned? What activities were used to help you and your dog learn that "best thing"?

42 acres and new dog training show
Posted to:
Training & Behavior
I finally could read the People's magazine article about CM, besides the obvious talking about some people that does not like him and some they do i think the article gave 2 interesting news: 1.-His dog psychology center is going to move to a 42 acre facility in Santa Clarita California (north...

when will SHE let us know to let her out?
Posted to:
Training & Behavior
We have a 12 week old English Shepherd, Honey. I take her out about every 2-4 hours depending on what she is doing at the time. She is taken out right away in the morning (usually around 7:00) and then before we leave to take the kids to school at 8:15. Everytime she eats she is taken out about 10-15...

Sofia ate a shrimp with its shell on
Posted to:

I'm thinking it will digest just fine. It wasn't a very big one, and was also full of eggs. My boyfriend brought some over from the crab and shrimp feed they had on his side of town for StupidBowl...And he dropped some on the floor when he brought them in. Sofia ate one for sure, and possibly...

Now there may be more than one, but for this thread, name only one thing watching Cesar helped you learn about your dog. Something that made a big difference.

Ok we know for sure that this girl's mom was a lab x basset hound. You pretty much can't see either breed in her I thought they were lying when they said that but the person who brought her into the pound bred the dogs and the mother was definatly a lab x basset hound lol. What would you guess...

Starting Obedience classes today
Posted to:

Unless classes are cancelled because of the cold Abbi has her first day of class today. We are starting her in basic, even though she knows a few things. After being with us for 9 months there is still a lot I want her to learn that I can't seem to teach her on my own, and yes I know that means that...

Agility conditioning

Nutrition & Exercise
I am planning on competing Josie (11 months) in Agility later this summer or when she is ready. We have been taking puppy agility classes, (mini obstacles, speed bumps, etc) and she really has an aptitude for it, so I am trying to map out a conditioning program for her and am wondering what everyone...

What Would You Like To See?
Posted to:

If you were advising Cesar about next season's shows, what would you like to see? More follow ups to check on the dogs' progress with its owners? More celebrity dogs? More about his pack? More specifics on behavior modification or training? Just curious what those who like CM might find more...
