A true mutt (more pics added)

Ok we know for sure that this girl's mom was a lab x basset hound.  You pretty much can't see either breed in her I thought they were lying when they said that but the person who brought her into the pound bred the dogs and the mother was definatly a lab x basset hound lol.  What would you guess her father was.  He definatly had chow in him because she has a purple spotted tongue i'm guessing also either rottie or german shepherd.   But the thing is she is also small only 40 pounds (8 months old) so I would have thought she would be bigger if she had those mixed in her.  And she also has a severe underbite but I know that can crop up in any breed.

This is before she got fuzzy she is now a big fuzz ball but she went through a phase where she had really short hair

18 weeks old (when I first got her)

What a cute dog! When I first saw the markings, I thought of a mix of Rotty, but she is a litte small. Know I am wondering on a smaller breed with similar markings, like a Miniature Pinscher

... He definatly had chow in him because she has a purple spotted tongue i'm guessing also either rottie or german shepherd...

Not necessarily.  [:)]  Many breeds can have purple spots on their tongues.  I've known purebred GSD, Goldens and Newfounlands who have had them.

She sure is a cutie.  How old is she?  In some of those pics she reminds me of a smaller version of LisaK's dog, Kodi.  She was told he's a Golden Retriever/Australian Shepherd mix.  Being a Basset/Lab mix, the black & tan could come from her mother.

aussie x would be my guess

There's got to be Aussie in there. Size around mid 40s for a female (can be smaller, too), ears are right, furry, and the black and tan markings can be carried on the Aussie side. She's cute!

Aussie really would make since she has a really high ball drive and alot of energy.  She has alot of purple on her tongue.  I would expect if she wasn't a chow mix that she would have a small spot but the whole back half of her tongue is purple and the underside.

I thought Aussie as well... I think she's too fine-boned to have any Rott in there (then again, where's the bassett, lol).

I'm gonna go ahead and suggest there's something else in there too....I don't think Basset, Lab, Rottie, or Shepherd have underbites like that!  Is it possible she has some sort of Bullish breed in her but got the long coat from the Aussie part?  It's a very prominent feature in her face, you'd think it had to come from somewhere...

Any breed can develop an undershot jaw, it is not all that uncommon.

Where do you see ANY Bullie??

Do you see any Basset?  [;)]   It was just a suggestion, no need to get huffy [:D]

[8|] It was a simple question, I wasn't being "huffy"

Well the tone just felt a little strong for the standard question of that nature, t'is all.  No biggie [:)]   I didn't realize that such a strong underbite could be present in any breed and it reminded me a lot of a Boxer jaw, so I thought mayhaps there could be some Boxer way back in the lines somewhere.  Heck, you never know with these mutter hounds...the muzzle IS ever so slightly box-ish.  I'm wondering if this dog was shorthaired how many people would vote Pit X.  That thick look to the legs is very Aussie though, I must say...as well as the shape of the eyes.

Yeah it's possible.  My grandmother has a purebred miniature dachshund who comes from show lines, his parents actually have thier champions.  But poor little Hogan was born with a severe overbite (the worst I have ever seen).
