Another reason never to take your dog to a boarding kennel
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
I work as a casual in a Boarding Kennel in Perth Western Australia. We are 'the best' we have thousands of clients and we are accredited by heaps of different people. We also board animals for animal transport companies. My boss makes a fortune. I hate it there. The animals get no exercise...

Just Spayed, won't eat?!?! ASAP please
Posted to:
Health & Grooming
I just brought my one year old Boxer, Laila, home from her spay at about 6pm. The vet gave us instructions to give her a pain pill and her antibiotic after she has eaten a little something. It's now almost 10pm and she's a lot more alert than she was a few hours ago but I can't coax her to...

Pitt Bull dog aggression
Posted to:
Training & Behavior
I am thinking about possible adopting a Pitt Bull puppy from someone that I know, and I have a question for all of you. This puppy is around 5 months old, possibly a mix but we dont know for sure, he lives out on a tie out all day and sleeps inside at night. I have been around this puppy a lot and he...

Corn gluten meal, revisited
Posted to:
Nutrition & Exercise
I read this on Natura's site..... "Corn gluten meal is a low ash source of protein and acts as a urine acidifier in HealthWise Cat 'N Kitten formula. Cats vs Dogs: While not the best quality source of protein, the use of corn gluten in small amounts offer preventive health benefits for...

Licking
Posted to:
Training & Behavior
Hi, I am new here, but have a question. I have a 3 yr old cocker, she is spayed and lives mostly indoors as I do not have a fenced yard. I have noticed that she is licking the carpet in whatever room she is in and has been doing so for weeks now. There is nothing food wise on the floor. Just dust...

Why not Innova Puppy
Posted to:
Nutrition & Exercise
Hey all, I don't spend much time in the nutrition threads, mainly because it's not my expertise. I do need some advice though. I met with a client last Wednesday. They just got a new Westie Puppy that is about 10 weeks old. I always ask what they are feeding in the consult, and she was feeding...

Very aggressive w/strangers
Posted to:
Training & Behavior
My border collie, Bowie, has become very aggressive with strangers. He has actually tried to bite people on several occasions. The people did nothing at all to provoke him - he started barking and growling, then lunged for them. At home, he is sweet and submissive as can be. I've used the NILF method...

Brain Games Needed!
Posted to:
Training & Behavior
My dog Chico is part border collie, and he really needs to work his brain! Does anybody have any good brain games or brain work that I could try? I took the dog IQ test (which he had so much fun with) and it said Chico was a genius, so he can try any level of game. Also, this is a bit random...

Just want to share my baby
Posted to:

I lurk here (helps feed the horse cravin's), and post occasionaly in the dog forums, but I wanted to share my baby. I lost her years ago, but I recently rediscovered this photo. She would have been 22 this year. Her name is Starlight Dancer, and she was half Arabian and half appy. I owe my wonderful...

Kids Scoop Poop?
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
Do you let your kids pick up after your dogs? My seven year old is negotiating to have this be one of his chores, as it is easy and only has to be done once a day (as opposed to setting the table or filling water buckets). I have qualms because of the health concerns, though he is a very fastidious seven...

Groomer Report Cards
Posted to:
Health & Grooming
Toby's groomer recently started giving out "report cards" at the end of their grooming sessions. I think its a neat idea.... It gives the groomer a chance to write down any concerns that they may have spotted during grooming. It also provides the owner with some feedback as to how their...

So last night Cookie finished her obedience school at Petco and perhaps I'm partial but I personally think she was at the top of the class! [ ] Also, this morning, I said to her "Go Crate" which is her signal that she has to go in her crate because I'm going to work and she went...
