Licking

I have a 3 yr old cocker, she is spayed and lives mostly indoors as I do not have a fenced yard.    I have noticed that she is licking the carpet in whatever room she is in and has been doing so for weeks now.  There is nothing food wise on the floor.  Just dust maybe.  She eats dry food, has water at all times, get snacks regularly.  Before I take her to the vet, I thought someone here might be able to enlighten me as to this weird behavior.   Thanks. • jones Posted : 6/16/2006 6:21:27 PM It could be some kind of self-soothing behavior or stress reponse. Are there any particular times she does it? Anything going on at the time like weird noises in the house or outdoors, something like that? Any other changes in her life recently?
