Groomer Report Cards

    Groomer Report Cards

Toby's groomer recently started giving out "report cards" at the end of their grooming sessions. I think its a neat idea....

It gives the groomer a chance to write down any concerns that they may have spotted during grooming. It also provides the owner with some feedback as to how their pup behaved during their stay.

Does anyone else's groomer do this?

There's another page on the other side (I didn't take a pic of it though). That side gives the groomer  a chance to note any concerns such as skin, fur and lumps....etc.....

Nope.......I haven't come across a grooming place that does that.

We don't do that, but it's a really cute idea. I think some people would like it a lot.

Yah, as a customer, I thought it was a great idea!~  I appreciate the time and thought they put into it as well...

Yup, a grooming shop that I used to work at (inside a vet) did the report cards. If the dog was there for a bath/brushout then the person who bathed them would fill out the report. If they also got groomed then the groomer would fill it out, and of course we would alert the groomers to anything we found also. It was a good system and clients really enjoyed getting the reports. Willow's groomer does but he stopped doing it for her after awhile because she's in there so often.

I do that also for my pet sitting clients.  And my vet gives an annual examination report card with all the body systems and they check off normal or whatever they feel and put comments.

My groomer doesn't do this, but every time I pick any of my dogs up we chat about how they were, and any problems she runs into with them. I hafta say, my groomer is the best.

The humane society where I work has a grooming shop, but it's not very busy.  I almost always meet the owners of the dogs I groom face to face.  I'm not sure if that happens in higher volume shops, but I like to be able to talk to the owner if I see something unusual with the dog.  These cards are a great idea, if there's something wrong with a dog, a good quality groomer will find it.  It is also a good thing for when you get in a dog that's in bad condition and you don't feel like arguing with the idiot owners.  If you've ever spent four hours shaving a dog only to hand it back to an owner who is oblivious to its coat condition, you know what I mean.

[align=left]My groomer does not hand out report cards, but she does pick up and deliver (both the dog and the owner should I so desire...and I always do) and for this service I am very grateful since I don't drive and this is a rural area.  She does a wonderful job on my little spaniel, tells me everything that I ask her advice on, and never loses her sense of humour!  She is beyond price!
