Breed guess?

    Breed guess?

Not ours, but we're thinking about it.  He weighs about 35 lbs at about 2 years.

The rescue has him listed as a "border collie / gordon setter."  I'm new at this game, but I dont know that I see setter.  Markings and head shape look like a lot of BCs I've seen , but he has such a short coat.  BC/Lab?

Thanks as always for the feedback!

there definetly some lab in there...maybe your right about the border collie

Oh, gosh, I see a lot of Lab.  To be honset, I don't see any BC (although I have seen some BCs with a short coat).  The shelter probably said Border Collie because he's black and white.  The white could come from a lot of breeds.  Given his age and size, he could be part Brittany.  Whatever he's mixed with, he looks like a gem.  I just love the life in his eyes.

Gordon Setter, are they on crack? LOL... He does look Labby but he's so small there must be something smaller in the mix. I'm a bit stumped though - maybe he's a Heinz 57? I love his cute face though!

I was going to say Lab and German Pointer but German Pointers aren't really common here and it wouldn't explain that crest, which can show up in some Lab lines. Definitely Lab but not enough coat to be BC, so I thought of some pointer or even some kind of sighthound.

That's exactly what I thought when I saw the pic... Adopt him before someone else does!

He could be lab and just about anything.  Actually, there's an awful lot of smooth coated BCs.  But I don't necessarily see BC - I'd call this a Lab Multibreed.

Gorden setter, snerk.  Probably that poor shelter's attempt to get some attention for yet another black lab-type mixed breed.  He looks like a lovely dog, though.
