I homecook for my dog. I am going to buy vension and then duck and rabbit. How would I cook these for my dog. Do I boil vension? It's not ground vension. It's boneless vension diced up. How would I cook duck breast and rabbit meat which are also diced up? Do I just boil everything?

Just curious....

I have another question. I'd love to know why alot of you use/have used a prong collar on your dogs. I know most of you are all for gentle, positive re-inforcment style training (me too!), so why use the prong collar? Don't get me wrong, I know pretty much nothing about them, and I trust that...

Chicken Wings

I had this posted on the "Disease, Illness, Condition" thread but have gotten no responses... I have been reading several different threads and the notion of chicken wings to help keep doggie teeth nice and white keeps coming up. I brush Baily's teeth a couple times a week but he loves...

homecooking

I've decided to not go for raw...I experimented a little and didn't like it (plus, i dont have much freezer space). I'm very interested in homecooking. I've found a few recipes on the internet that sound pretty good, yet they didn't specify how much to give the dogs. How much should...

Is eating grass okay?
Posted to:
Nutrition & Exercise
I know there will be a few opinions on the topic. Boomer occasionally eats grass. He has never thrown up from it. Is it okay for him to eat it? He doesn't eat huge quantities of it just a few grass blades here and there.

Your Dog is Worth It Too Day
Posted to:

On Saturday August 5th, somewhere in NJ, i'm not really sure. It was posted on the group of the shelter we got Max from, and my sister volunteers with them now. Proceeds from the event benefit the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. The cost is $5 per adult. It looks like it'll be a lot...

I will be taking Tootsie to an adult obedience class, that has the focus on her getting her CGC! The class is being done by Deborah Rosen who studied with Jean Donaldson. I haven't been this excited in forever!

A Debate Walk vs. Not
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
Have been having a debate wtih a friend, always great fun. About a year ago, she adopted a 4 year old sheltie who is a dear little guy. Around the house he is sweet and polite and surprisingly quiet. He loves to run around their large backyard. BUT, take him off the property and he turns into a raving...

Love bites -- Ow!
Posted to:

[size="3"]My dog loves me soooo much. Everytime I leave him he whines for me to come back, and when I return, he greets me by jumping up and practically licking my face off. But now when he greets me when I come home, he gives love bites in between kisses and it's really starting to...

Shaky and uncoordinated
Posted to:
Health & Grooming
My female border collie mix, about 6 years old, was walking very shaky this morning, but she did not fall down. She is usually very coordinated and sure of her steps. I let her outside, and she still was shaky for a few minutes. She shivered a little, like possibly she was scared, but I could have mistaken...

I am pretty sure that sandra_slayton can answer my question, but any information would be great!!!!! I would like to start feeding fish to the dogs, like trout and those little fresh sardines. I am just not sure how to give it to them. What about the bones. Can I microwave them, feed them raw. What...

Back Yard Breeders

I've seen a lot of posts on this forum about "back yard breeders". I was just looking for a little more clarification on the term. Is it anyone who is not an experienced breeder, who does not fix their dogs and the dogs have puppies? The main reason I ask is because we got Loki from what...
