Feeding Fish (not canned or dry) to dogs

I am pretty sure that sandra_slayton can answer my question, but any information would be great!!!!!

I would like to start feeding fish to the dogs, like trout and those little fresh sardines. I am just not sure how to give it to them. What about the bones. Can I microwave them, feed them raw. What is a girl to do with a fish?

    Thanks!!!!

You can feed them raw with the bones if you choose really it depends on the owner. If you are going to cook them take all the bones out.

Never feed pacific salmon raw- Your dog can get parasites that make him very ill.

Mine get whiting, croakers, sand trout, speckled trout, redfish, black drum, sheephead, gray snapper (Mangrove snapper in Florida) Spanish Mackeral and even flounder.  I ALWAYS fillet the meat off the bone and cook in microwave.  I am leary of the fish bones.  However, when my old Irish Setter was terminal with bone cancer and I was taken him fishing every day,  he managed to grab and eat several bait mullet I dumped out of my casting net, and he also got a couple of speckled trout  off my stringer and ate part of them before I got them away from him.
Some of the salt water fish are built so funny and are really hard to filet without an electric knife--which i won't use because I would cut my fingers off, and I have actually been stabbed and cut by bones while cleaning the fish.  So i am very reluctant to let them have any bones.

I fed our old cat so much real fish that if I tried to give her canned or dried food that was suppose to have fish, she turned her nose up and walked away from it!

Anway, hope this answers your question--oh and my dogs do LOVE fresh fish.

You are very welcome and I am sure your baby will enjoy the fresh fish.   In just a few minutes I am going to go boil some chicken hearts and white potatoes for my dogs.  Last night they had canned mackeral and canned unsalted mixed veggies.
