Your Dog is Worth It Too Day

On Saturday August 5th, somewhere in NJ, i'm not really sure. It was posted on the group of the shelter we got Max from, and my sister volunteers with them now. Proceeds from the event benefit the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. The cost is $5 per adult.  It looks like it'll be a lot of fun for the dogs, and I think i'm going to take Max.
Here's the site for the event

...somewhere in NJ, i'm not really sure...

According to the directions, it's in Cranbury.  From what I can gather, that's kind of south east of Princeton.

Depending on the heat, I'm thinking about making that drive along w/ one, maybe two of Cooper's friends.

It just looks like so much fun!!!

That looks like a blast!  I'll prolly drag, er, bring one of the boys with me.
ETA: Yes, Cranbury is very close to Princeton.  It's a nice little town, or used to be.

I went last year. It was hot as heck, but they constructed a big pool for the dogs with a ramp, and my dog, who is a wild swimmer, spent much of the day in the pool. There were lots of exhibits and rescue groups there as well as bands, plus a playground area where the dogs could mingle off-leash. For the dogs, really, that is always what it's all about--a chance to meet dozens of other dogs. Lots of sniffing....

Annie, you'll have to let me know who you're dragging, errr... bringing along. Max hopes it's Grady. We saw Max's dalmation pal Tyler in the park and told one of his dad's about it (uhh.. yeah, Tyler has two dads, if you get what I mean by that), so Max is also hoping Tyler will come. Anyone else who is coming, be sure to let us know. Maybe we can meet up there somewhere.

If I can talk DH into going then I'll bring both dogs.  Otherwise, I'll prolly bring Groedrick.

Well, I know Max will be much more excited about it if they both come. However, he will not be excited if the thing I am secretly hoping for happens. Max will not actually swim. He walks through the water, he'll fetch a stick out of the water (but not a ball or a toy, unless it belongs to another dog), and he even puts his head in to get it, but if it goes out far enough that he might have to swim, he's done. So, I am secretly hoping that Grady will push him in to the water. He goes out a little bit farther when he's playing with other dogs, but if they swim, he just stands and whines. Maybe if Grady gives him that little push, he'll realize he can do it.
