No, acutally it was in response to Mics comments. If a seasoned pro has ok and not ok dominant dogs, then us rookies probably shouldn't guess.

But, in response to your comment that you'll know in the first two minutes, I maintain that you should KNOW before you ever put the darned thing on.

Ok. Yes I agree you should know before you put the darned thing on but in some cases where someone does research and talks to the right people and figures out that their dog is a candidate for it, the dog might act completely different then what you expected when actually using it on them. Definatley there are certain dogs that you know for sure wouldn't and shouldn't be used on them.

I'm too cautious with my dog, I guess. Before I ever put a new tool to use on her, I'd consult with my trainer, even if I had read every manual on the planet. None of those manuals will be able to interpret how my dog is reacting to the tool and my use of it.
The head halter is not something I'd use on my dog because our breed is prone to problems with their spines. Improper use of the head halter (ie, letting your dog drift out 2 or 3 feet then pulling on the leash and effectively yanking their head back, thus torquing on the neck and spine) stresses that disease-prone area of a Dobe's spine. Also, I want my dog to be responsive to me and not the fact that I'm leading her around by her face.
