Human SAM-e for dogs
Posted to:
Nutrition & Exercise
I'm wondering those who feed a human SAM-e to their pups, what brand do you use? Lately I ordered a brand from iherb, the same brand my vet prescribed, but this one came in a bottle. THEN, I read that SAM-e is most effective when kept in a blister pack till it's ready for use. The bottled one...

We leave for vacation tomorrow and I am jumping out of my seat. I just have a little bit more packing to do and then we are good to go. Our flight isn't until 3:00 so we avoid the whole get up at 3:00 am stuff. My dad is happy since he's the one driving us to the airport. Tons of stuff to do...

Dalmation that pulls out running shorts?
Posted to:
Training & Behavior
I read this description about Dalmatians that says, "Don’t be surprised if he noses his way into your dresser drawer, pulls out your jogging shorts, and brings them to you as a not-so-subtle hint." http://www.vetstreet.com/dogs/dalmatian One of my dogs, Xena, is very smart and is always...

Raw Feeding - Beginners Questions
Posted to:
Nutrition & Exercise
Hello there! I'm considering switching my two dachshunds to raw foods. There are a bunch of reasons why, but the main driving force (besides their overall health) is that it's supposed to help a lot with dogs with anal gland issues. Both of mine need theirs emptied at least once per month (or...

9/11 Chat
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
The weather this morning is just as it was in NY on that fateful day. I always get super emotional on 9/11 Had a nice evening last night, made a fire in the firepit, the neighbor came by with the not so baby golden and the dogs played while we just enjoyed a cool, pleasant evening. Unfortunately Bugsy...

So I tried the new vectra flea and tick product a few days ago on my aussies. I was hesitant in the first place because of the ingrediants, but because I hadn't heard anything negatice about it and the vet suggested it, I tried it. Well, I followed the directions (it does have a nice applicator btw...

These were from a couple weeks back, first day of school. Not great because my speedlight died and we had no batteries, of course! Elias (9 now) such a 'tude, not like you couldn't see that, Lily (11 now)...she also has a 'tude but she hides it in photos better.

Update: Dog Friendly Renting

News & Entertainment
Well we are moved in and the yard turned out to be so much better than we expected! There is and empty, grassy lot right next to ours that is owned by the same people who own our house. We are not paying for the land, but they dont do anything with it ever, so it is basically part of my yard, which is...

Puppy food for adult dogs
Posted to:
Nutrition & Exercise
Is there any reason to not feed a puppy food to an adult dog? I ask because I just recently switched brands to Taste of the Wild, and the closest formula they had to what Zeke had been eating (bison based) is the Prairie. However, this formula also has chicken in it, which Zeke does not tolerate well...

Any Utility competitors here?

I'm working on scent articles with my girl and have run into a slight problem. If I offer her the scented article to sniff, instead of my hand she finds it with no problems. If I offer her my palm to sniff, she seems to pick up on the leather scent and gets very confused. Is it "legal"...
