Monday Chatting

I also love sangria but have never made it myself. It's good to know it'll last cause DH doesn't drink much either. I think he might like sangria though. Maybe I'll make some this weekend. It'll still be in the 90s, so it would be perfect.

All the tile talk made me realize the entryway grout needed cleaning. Our entryway is probably 30 ft long 4 feet wide (7 feet near the front door), so it's a LOT of tile. I used white vinegar and a toothbrush and once I started, there was no turning back. After I finished cleaning it, I mopped the whole thing, let it dry and reappllied the sealer. I doubt I'll be able to lift a pencil tomorrow but I'm thrilled with how good it turned out. Yes

    Holy canoli woman!!!

I was gonna come here and say "Calgon Take Me Away" but I guess if Cathy can do all that, then I ought to stick it out the next 30 mins of work.  But I hate every person who calls and whines.  Just hate them!

Good gracious Cathy that is a WHOLE lot of scrubbing with a toothbrush!!!!!!!!!!!! Bet it looks amazing though.

Happily day 2 of walks and rimadyl have Bugsy up to his normal hijinx

Took mom to the place I have used in the past for a foot reflexology massage - she's never had any sort of massage so it was a real treat for her. She seemed to enjoy it Wink

Making meatballs and spaghetti tonight - I love meatballs and spagh but the hot and humid weather just doesn't inspire me to make it so I am really looking forward to it.

Last summer I made a white sangria fairly regularly that was perfect for hot weather. I'm not a huge fan of red sangria as it is often sweet

Cathy, if I am going to be on my knees with a toothbrush for that long? I had better be crawling across a long long line of hot nekkid men, with dirty teeth. Just saying. And whatsmore? I would expect a MUCH bigger reward at the end of all that than clean grout! I would also be sore the next day tho. So there is that.

Just stopping in to say HI to ya'll!!!  School started last week so I've been busy busy busy.

Hope all is well in doggyland.  Give a round of treats and scritches for me.

    Cheers

Hi Johnny!! We miss you! Good luck with school and stop by when you can.

I think it was the stress over the insurance issue that got me into cleaning mode. Since we didn't hear anything back today, I may need another project for tomorrow. I'm so ticked off, I'm not safe to be around right now. Super Angry

Cathy, I don't blame you for being upset with the health insurance.  If something is gonna happen, it will happen during that short break in coverage. Hmm

Tina, before you pay to have someone check out your car, check to make sure the gas tank cap is screwed on straight and tightly.  If it isn't, that can make the "check engine" light come on.  I learned that the hard way a few years ago after paying $100 for a diagnostic when my light came on. Then the guy tells me "oh that's really common - it happens a lot."  I felt like punching him.  If it's so common, why didn't he check for that first??

Lisa, that's a great pic of Riley.  She really looks like she's enjoying herself.

Joyce, you are the 3rd person who mentioned that about the gas cap. I didn't know that. After work last night I unscrewed and resecured my gas cap, but the light is still on. I have to get my oil changed anyway, so they might as well look at it when I'm there. Maybe before next Monday the light will go out on its own.

Tina - if you go to a place like AutoZone they will check the codes for the check engine light for free - that way you can make sure it isn't something small that you could fix (i.e. gas cap).

    • Gold Top Dog
Lisa, I don't mean to sound stupid, but I have no idea what code it is showing. Would Auto Zone tell me that? I'm under the impression that you have to be able to hook it up to some computer that would read the code.
    • Gold Top Dog

Yep - totally, they will tell you what it means, and approximately how much someone would charge for the repair.  They are not the end all, be all, but they give you a good idea what's going on.  Sometimes it's just a sensor that's gone bad, etc.  They at least put you in the ballpark of what's going on. They hook a reader up to your car and it tells them the codes that are setting off the check engine light.  Depending on vehicle/manufacturer and model year some manufacturers used to have it go off just so you took it into the dealership for a check up.  Some still do that (not GM though Wink)!

BTW - I have no idea what the codes are so you don't sound stupid at all LOL
