I'm going to my first Search and Rescue training session tonight! I talked with the team leader today after hearing one of the SAR handlers talk this morning at our humane ed camp at work and it looks like even with my odd schedule this might work. The first training session I go w/o Z and if we...

Barrier Aggression and Frustration
Posted to:
Training & Behavior
I'm thinking of writing a training protocol for this issue and would like to hear some of the experiences, positive and negative, that people here have had while trying to deal with a dog that has this issue. So, if your dog gets crazy at gates, fences, in the car, doorways, etc. please feel free...

The big tease
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
This is the reason I wish more cat owners believed in keeping them inside. This cat loves to lay on the fence and taunt my dogs! I wasn't fast enough to catch them at the fence barking up a storm, though.

Puppy kills baby!!!
Posted to:
Rescue & Help
Have not seen a posting of this so hope it isn't a repeat. An 8 week old baby in a swing in the house was supposedly killed by an 6 week old puppy WHILE 3 ADULTS were in the house and never heard a thing! Apparently it was his 17 year old mom, his grandmother and i guess his dad. The baby had been...

I didn't exactly mean to call Anne out on the "I don't understand why" thread, though I think it could be/will be interpreted like that. I just have a really serious problem with her saying in the same post "I used to not know better and I used a prong, now I need to educate others"...

I got up and let him and Cuddles and Possum outside. Then I got their breakfast and let them eat. Brownie finished first so I gave him a chew stick thing. He ate about half of it then started choking!!! I massaged his throat until he stopped choking and then took the other half away. He seemed fine but...

Flexi question

I know most of us hate flexi leads with a passion, but I do find them helpful in some situations. I'm considering purchasing an all belt flexi for use on hikes and while exercising the dogs on the road and I was wondering if anyone had any experiences with the all belt leads and/or any input on 16'...

Those of you who are vegetarian - what is your reasoning and how and when did you go about changing your diet? I really want to go veg (for animal cruelty and environment reasons) but it's difficult because DH is a big meat eater and does not like veggies and will not touch any fake meat or dairy...

IT CAME UP OUT OF NOWHERE LIKE BRET DID BACK IN '99. I JUST CHECKED THE WEATHER STIE FRIDAY AND THERE WAS NOTHING IN THE GULF AT ALL, JUST WAY OUT...
