GAME - Just ONE thing

    This is a great thread!

Puppies want and need to chew, make sure to have plenty of different options for them, including the ones that you can freeze as it is soothing to their tender teething gums. (a wet frozen wash cloth is good too from time to time). I firmly believe that a puppy who has specific items of their own to chew on and is praised for and encouraged to do so, is much less likely to chew up your favorite shoes, that YOU left out where they could be chewed.

I've known people who've gotten a puppy and did not get them things to chew on and then they can't understand why the dog chewed up the leg of the couch!!! Um....La Duh!!! :)

not going thru the whole thread for repeats BUT...

Puppies grow extremely quickly...check the collar OFTEN to make sure they are not uncomfortably tight. Esp on thickly coated or fast growing, breeds.

Eat and nap.  Don't lose your temper with a puppy over something as easily preventable as being grouchy because you're hungry or tired.

Take pictures while the puppy is small.  By the time you "do it later" the puppy will be grown, & you'll be left wondering why you didn't take more pics.

Never give your puppy cooked bones - they are not safe!  Raw ones are OK, provided they are of an appropriate size.
