Red has Bells Palsy
A few days ago I noticed my 8 year Golden/Collie/GordonSetter Red's right side of face is paralyzed. Doctor prescribed doxycline and prednisone and artificial tears because he can't blink. His ear, eye and gums are limp and drooping, and drooling on right side only. We gave him Aconite and now...

Oh No Layla.....
She has a slight tinge of blood in her urine *again*. She's been treated twice in the last several months for a UTI. I've had her on cranberry supplements and have restricted her salt intake and also increased her water intake. For a little bit after her last round of anti-biotics, she was peeing...

Interdigital cysts
A former member of the forum and good friend has a Westie that has an interdigital cyst. They've gone thru a few rounds of antibiotics and it hasn't seemed to have helped at all. If anyone knows more about these and the best way to treat them, I'd really love to share the info with her and...

autoimmune thyroiditis - questions
Bugsy's blood work shows that his T4 and T3 levels are well within the normal range now BUT his TGAA numbers are increasing again. This is the number that indicates the autoimmune thyroiditis. Initially he was 225 then 168 then 81 now 134 - so a significant increase Dr Dodds asked again as to whether...

I have a 4 month old shihtzu . He seems to have problems with his anal glands. . I have had our vet express them twice now. Someone told me pumpkin was good for this. Does anyone know if this is true? If so, how much should I give him and how often? I could use any advise on helping him. Thank you

Pro-Biotic Question
I was just wondering if probiotics can go bad or lose their effectiveness. I had to go searching today for some and found some at a place we don't usually go. All they had were sample packs and they are marked best before Nov. 2007. (Forti-Flora) Any thoughts? Thanks

Possibly Pregnant?
Or not? Because at this point, I'm not sure. Hi, everyone. My little brother's mutt had puppies about a year ago, and I kept one. Her name is Milly. She's about six or seven months old now and has gone into her first heat. I was hoping to avoid this by getting her spayed before the first...

Devastated - tumor on shoulder and lung!
I'm absolutely heartbroken. Today I found out that my elderly rottweiller called Jessie (13 years old) has developed a tumor on her shoulder and her lung. It's enormous, hard, and she struggles to get up/walk sometimes. I've been told that she'll most likely only live for a few weeks...

Blue Power Ear Cleaner
I wasn't sure the right place to ask this, but how long does this stuff stay good for after mixed? The bottle I made up last is at least 6 months old and I wasn't sure if it was still ok to use...Thoughts? I know I could just make up another batch, but I'd rather use up what I have if possible...

What do you think is wrong with Timmy?
I'll preface this by saying I have a vet appointment scheduled for Friday morning, but until then, I would like some ideas to present as this is the third time we've been there with him and they haven't fixed him yet. He has these scab-like things over his chest and he is quite itchy...
