Labrador with serious immune condition with severe Ascites
My 8 year old Labrador, Harvey, developed sickness, followed by intermittent diarrhoea and ascites. Looking back, he had been moulting badly since I put him on a senior light diet, about six weeks ago (Nutro Choice Senior) to help him lose weight under the control of the Vets clinic. He has had every...

"Rat tail" on Allie, questions
Allie has had places on her tail with no hair for years, I've heard it was due to low thyroid, well, she's been on thyroid meds for years, and it's still getting more and more bare! Can anyone tell me what else can cause this? Vet said caused by fleas, but she's always had Front line...

Tough nails - any advice?
Sammy's nails are a constant battle for me. They're hard as rocks; they don't wear down on walks, etc as I would expect them to. Harry I hardly ever have to trim, except his hind dewclaws which he doesn't use therefore need frequent trimming. All his other ones, tho, pretty much keep...

Minksheen Pet Shampoo
A friend of mine recently recommended a shampoo called, Minksheen Pet Shampoo. I've read a number of testimonials from customers who rave about it and swear by it. I've tried a number of different shampoos and conditioners but have yet to find "the one." This Minksheen apparently contains...

Help! Is my dog having a panic attack?
Does anyone here know the symptoms of a doggie panic attack? Or could she be having a seizure...? She seems very, very frightened and for no apparent reason. I am not aware of anything happening - she just ran down here and tried to get behind the couch (she is a large dog) and she is shaking uncontrollably...

Sick dog : (
My 4 year old female cockapoo has an ear infection. I can not get her to the vet until the end of the week due to doctors appointments of my own. I took her temperature by putting the digital thermomeater under her arm and holding it down like one would do for a child. Please don't suggest doing...

Sagging Belly on One Side
I have just noticed that my Abby's belly is sagging on one side (Back part of belly near right back leg). I can only feel it like that when she is standing. When she is in my arms & I am rubbing her belly, she doesn't seem hurt and I can't feel anything. A few times when I was feeling...

Instead of Benadryl for vaccine reaction?
I called the Vet about the half-dollar size lump at injection site on my 6 pound pom, he suggested children's Benadryl. I happen to mention this to someone who told me the sorbitol in Benadryl is toxic to dogs and that's what I happen to have so is there anything else that works to reduce the...

What power dremel?
Hello everyone! I have been using the pedi paws for my Entlebucher, Logan, since he was a puppy. In the last few months, his nails have hardened and gotten thicker. Now I am looking to purchase a Dremel. I'm looking at the Dremel pet grooming kit, here: http://www.petsmart.com/product/index...

Chewing on house plants, tags, ribbons, etc.
The last two weeks or so Indy has had the need to chew. In the mornings she gets up and goes straight for the house plants or whatever she can find to chew on (except her bones, of course). She acts like her stomach is bothering her too. What might this be?

Bugsy's recovery has been excellent however no matter how I vary or limit what he does when he gets up after sleeping in the evening to go out for his last of the night, he is clearly sore. His bones are healed so I'm not worried about that, his joint was arthritis-free at the 8 week x-ray so...
