Any quick home things to try before Gibby goes back in again? He had a red spot about an inch and a half close to his eye...he had it before his last bout of what I thought was stomach issues. Asked the doctor when he was there..she just thought it was a spot that the fur was real thin,,,and then DH...

Update on Gibsons crystals
So 2 1/2 weeks later took a urine sample in to get tested again.....the vet saw no crystals..just still a high ph. He said minimum Pepcid and they want to watch his electrolytes and to keep him on a high quality kibble only FOR NOW...I guess he added FOR NOW because he figures I'm not going to keep...

Not getting any nutrients from food + chronic ear infections
Any ideas or advice?.... Kismet is 14 and has pretty much suffered from ear infections since she was 6 years old. Tried everything, spent tons of money on the Vet...nothing. I started using Zymox a few years ago and that seemed to keep the infections away. This past summer my vet decided to go and flush...

I have 2 female beagles, they are 2 and a half years old. Bonnie, the larger of the 2 has been having some problem with her nose for a few months, it seems to peel, dry out, it looks almost bubbly. We have taken her into the vet numerous times and she doesnt seem to concerned, because she isnt losing...

For those who've had dogs break foot bones.....
what did your vet do? Sage hurt her foot sometime Wednesday. Wasn't sure how bad so the plan was to watch her. She would limp when walking, put some weight on it standing but preferred to hold it up. She's got the cutest little hop/run that she does to keep from putting pressure on it but still...

Benedryl Help
What type of Benedryl should I get for Ari? I can't take the stuff personally, so I was a tad overwhelmed by the number of choices when I stopped into the drugstore. Is it just the regular capsules I should be getting? Should I get the liquid gels or is their a liquid form I should get? I'm so...

Vetmedin (meg)
So, has anyone had experience with Vetmedin for CHF? Tiki's vet had lunch with the drug rep and he's made some special arrangements with her. I know it's expensive - one of the IMHA dogs is on it and I looked at the pricing on Dr's Foster and Smith and almost fell over. If I understood...

Does anyone remember Barney? He has serious fatigue problems.
I haven't posted here in a long time. I only see Barney when I'm on the west coast but meanwhile I read about everyone else's pups here. I guess this is kind of rude to just appear when you are asking for help, but the folks on this forum have seen so much. The background on Barney...

Callie - Ever heard of Medi-Paws (medicinal marijuana)
I came across this little article. I have never heard Callie speak of treating dogs with marijuana, Curious on her thoughts as well as others. Pet owners across Canada have a new a new way to treat the ailments of their beloved four-legged friend -- through cannabis treatment. While most Canadians...

anyone have experience with seizures in dogs?
We think Misty had two small seizures today. She starts off doing this swallowing thing/making noises with her tongue, it then goes to like a tooth chattering thing like she's chomping quickly on nothing, and then tonight she was shaking her head like there was something in her ear and then she lost...

Strange question about urine
I'm doing more research on neurosis in dogs and found one site that lists low urine output as a symptom. I am already convinced that Kenya is neurotic (several overwhelming reasons) but that struck me, since I've always thought she doesn't pee very much. It's a weird thing to notice,...

Any one ever hear of crystals in urine ( lots of them ) high PH, but no mention or symptoms of infection? Thats Gibby......she didn't put him on anything yet because I am in the process of trying him on Dog Food for sensitive stomach..... instead of the bland home made diet I have been feeding him...

How to wrap a paw?
Tasha developed an injury on the bottom of her hind foot, in between the pads. In order to keep her from licking it so it could heal, I put a dog boot on that foot. That was fine and dandy, until I took it off and it had rubbed a raw spot on the side of her foot. Now she has made that raw spot twice...

Can dogs get warts?
So Odie has this small wart thing on his head (near where his ear connects to his scalp). I decided to file part of it down since it was flaking off but it grew back. It doesn't hurt him and he lets me touch it but he is always rubbing his head on the ground so I know it has to be a little bothersome...
