    Acne and red spots

Any quick home things to try before Gibby goes back in again?   He had a red spot about an inch and a half close to his eye...he had it before his last bout of what I thought was stomach issues. Asked the doctor when he was there..she just thought it was a spot that the fur was real thin,,,and then DH said he thought Gibby bumped it there while being the maniac that he sometimes is.  But its still there.  Can't tell if its just thin hair or what.  But either right before I put him back on dog food ( Taste of the Wild ) or at the same time...noticed some pimple type spots under his fur on his forehead....and a few days later I thought to look under his chin and sure enough...pimples....one really big one that looks more like a welt.  It was bleeding a bit a few days ago on my white carpet...but probably because he rubbed it.    The spots on his head healed and have totally gone away...but he could be getting a new one on his muzzle.   I contacted one of the vets where I worked...he said he might need an antibiotic and/or some kind of gel..........  but I would like to see if maybe I could give it a shot to fix it myself before taking him in.  Mainly would like to keep him off antibiotics if possible.       He has been doing really well so I hate to think about changing food if its that.

Some history...... been washing with soap and water and putting peroxide on once a day.  Try to get antibiotic ointment on before bed.

He eats/drinks out of stainless steel.....always did.

He has been playing and biting on his kong lately...know Ollie uesd to have trouble with rubber toys..but gee...he has to play with something, he chews up most everything else.

How old is Gibby now?  And he's neutered, right?

When were his last vaccines? (because it's near the face you have to think demodex possibly)  Beyond that it's likely allergy -- have you changed what you do laundry with?  Is he RUBBING his face as if they itch?

Gibby is TWO YEARS OLD TOMORROW,,,,, HAPPY BIRTHDAY GIBBY!!!!

Yes he is neutered....and the last vaccine he got was rabies several months ago, thinking November, and bordatella because he goes to play days occasionally.   Nothing has chance in my house...and I can't see that he is especially itching.   He was rubbing his eyes a lot but not really doing that much anymore either.

I would ask them to rule out demodex but let's hope that's not it (because he IS mature and at his age it would be a 'symptom' of something else rather than puppy stuff).  But it's likely just atopic allergies - nearly spring, everything dry, dusty and that can trigger such stuff.
