I had bought the arm & hammer canine oral care finger toothbrush and the toothbrush but forgot the toothpaste don't recall seeing it anyway.  Could I use human toothpaste??

You can use the stuff for infants and toddlers that is ok to swallow, but not the adult stuff.

Thanks i'll get the kids Colgate at the dollar store I'm sure its cheaper than buying the dogs toothpaste lol

NOT the kids. The infants. The kids' foams. Also, check it for xylitol, a natural sugar substitute that is toxic to dogs.

Personaly I would not use any human toothpast, shampoo or any thing like this as a dogs PH is completely different from ours. Go to petsmart or petco to buy your toothpast and shampoo. I have been using hartz beef flavor and a soft toothbrush on my Poodles with no problem. The toothpast is not real expensive either.

See now me, I'd go with human over a Hartz product.  But, I have a natural dog toothpaste that humans can also use, it's vanilla flavored from Cain & Able.  Here's the site http://www.cainandablecollection.com/.  And, Willow also has that Dirty & Hairy shampoo.  It's nice too.

If I recall correctly, someone here on the board looked at the pH levels of human and dog shampoo, and they were actually VERY similar.  I know of several groomers who sometimes use dog shampoo on their own hair, and human products on their dogs.  Whatever works, works.  In my opinion anyway.

Chris Christensen Day To Day works better than ANY human shampoo/conditioner I've tried.  /weirdgroomer

Also, I've never hesitated to use flea shampoo on myself after a day of flea infested dogs. Much better choice than having them end up in my car, flooring, on my dogs, in my bed, etc.

I've used dog shampoo on myself before without knowing and I didn't grow a tail!!!

I was using baby shampoo on Luke. The only reason I am using dog shampoo now is that we got lots of free stuff in gift bags from Your Dog is Worth it Too day. I do like the doggie conditioner though, it seems to help him dry faster. I'm sure I could mix some water into some L'Oreal stuff, since that's probably what this is anyway.

I wouldn't use human toothpaste as dogs swallow it.  It's made for human tastes and could contain xylitol which is fatal for dogs to ingest.  I use CET dog toothpaste, poultry or beef flavored.  My dog enjoys getting his teeth brushed as the toothpaste is a treat to him.

Yeah, they will swallow it, which an infant will do as well, or a toddler.

But, I absolutely wouldn't use any Hartz product.  That company scares the crap right out of me.
