    Blue Power Ear Cleaner

I wasn't sure the right place to ask this, but how long does this stuff stay good for after mixed? The bottle I made up last is at least 6 months old and I wasn't sure if it was still ok to use...Thoughts?  I know I could just make up another batch, but I'd rather use up what I have if possible.

As long as the boric acid fully incorporates after you shake it, it's FINE.  Upon occasion the boric acid will crystalize and get "hard" and that's the part that is so soothing so if the boric acid is just slushy in the bottom then toss it.  You want that dissolved so it really soothes the ear canal.

Thanks Callie! When I shook it this morning, the boric acid was mixing in fully. Tonight Ari's going to get a good ear massage with this stuff. She HATES having it put in, but she'll let you massaged it around until your hand falls off.

That's cos it sounds like Niagara Falls is cascading INTO your ear.  The sound is huge and must be scarey.  TREATS.  Tink says treats are the ONLY way!!!!

Despite being food crazy, Ari is no fool! I could waive filet mignon in her face and it would be no go. Heck even angel hair pasta wouldn't convince her otherwise (that's her most favorite treat in the whole world). Once you have her pinned down lol, she'll let you do it. The trick is catching her. I've even tried sneaking the bottle in my pocket for 3 hours before doing her ears and I swear the SECOND the thought hits my head to clean her ears (I don't even move or look at her), she's off running. I swear she can read my mind.

We usually just break out the leash, leash her up, restrain, pour and massage. Then she gets playtime afterward since we are already outdoors to do her ears.

The ear rubbing part though is enough for her to forgive me lol. She closes her eyes and just melts.

Tink is that way too -- VERY suspicious.  I'm not big on treats training unless it's for something that is unpleasant or scarey for them -- I mean come on ... even *I* am not altruistic enough to go to work for nothing!!

But it's funny -- the one thing that will give her pause is the homeopathics from Dr. Demers.  They are just a bottle of drops that taste like WATER.  And at first she was scared OF the dropper.  But she really doesn't like to just submit to anything like that ... UNLESS I SAY ...

"Dr. Demers made these JUST FOR *****YOU****!!!  JUST Tinkerbell gets these!!"

And somehow ... well ... that's pretty ok.  Narcissic little stinker.

LMBO! Tink your just silly! Ari definitely knows when something is up, pretty much right before I'm even aware I'm thinking about doing something she isn't keen on. It's really disturbing actually.

How about sharing the recipe for this ear cleaner?

Maybe if I say please? So, please, please, pretty please. Smile
