I'll preface this by saying I have a vet appointment scheduled for Friday morning, but until then, I would like some ideas to present as this is the third time we've been there with him and they haven't fixed him yet.
He has these scab-like things over his chest and he is quite itchy. The problem started a few months ago, and he was itchy and had what looked to be a rash over the inside of his thighs. We thought that it might have been an allergy, so we started homecooking for him, we did this for about two months, the rash moved up his belly to his chest, and he was still itchy. We have also been giving him benedryl to try and help the itching - it doesn't seem to be doing a darn thing. The rash then developed into scab like things and since homecooking was not working he is now eating California Natural (the lamb one). At first the vet agreed it was a food allergy and said we were doing the right thing, switching his food, then at the last visit she gave him a lose dose steroid and a prescription anti itch. This cleared up most of the scabs until except for a few on his chest, today was his last day of the medications and the past week he is back to being very itchy again and scratching a lot and there are a lot of scabs on his chest again.
He otherwise, seems to be his normal self.
Oh and Sadie, our beagle, is fine. She is not itchy at all.
