Tanker has a heart problem
My dog Tanker (11 years old) went to the vet this morning for his yearly exam. A fairly loud heart murmur that wasn't there a year ago was detected (the vet said on a scale of 1-6, with 1 being barely audible and 6 being so loud you don't need a stethoscope to hear it, Tanker's is a 3). He...

Over the Counter medicine
Can someone please give me a list of over the counter antihistimines used for people that is safe for dogs? I know benadryl is one, but it does not seem to work very well for my dog. There are so many allergy medications available at walmart and I was tempted to try one on her but I know I shouldn't...

Will need new groomer
We are moving back to Ohio, currently live in NC. I love our groomer for my Tzus so this is going to be hard. She is so nice and sweet to them and does a great job. Does anyone know of a good groomer in the Cincinnati Ohio area? Thx

Mysterious Skin Infection on Female's PP??
My 5 year old bitch (who has NOT been spayed) has recently developed what looks like an infection on her private parts. The skin has taken on a darkish colour & there are medium sized black risen up spots on her vulva. These spots occasionally ooze a dark yellow-white discharge. The whole area...

Is a dog ever to small to spay?
I have a female yorkshire terrier who is about 4 lbs. I would like to spay her because when she gets into heat, which has happened about two times, she becomes very messy and she spots everywhere. She also becomes a little more mean. So my question is, is it ever unsafe to spay a dog that is very small...

Hurry help quick!
My dog jumped from my arms and hit his head on the concrete. These is no swelling or visible signs of injury but he seems lethargic. He is a puppy and sleeps a lot so the tiredness isn't abnormal. Do you think he is fine what is usually the case and is there a number to call or something?

Poor Emma
The kid can't catch a break. We spent this morning at the vet's office doing a barium series, thinking she was going to have emergency surgery. $200 later, she has an upset stomach and three prescriptions. She hasn't held down a meal since Sunday. She *did* hold down her dinner tonight, but...

Oscar's problem has a name...thanks Callie and Jane
For those who have emailed (on and off board) about my little Dachshund a word from the vet. Oscar has a combination of sarcoptic mange (which I suspected) and a very severe vaccination-induced immune reaction called vasculitis. It is easily treated and should be completely cured however the vet has...

Does anyone know what flea protection would be safe for my dog and not bother my rabbit? I do not want to put flea stuff on my rabbit but I do not want to put flea protection on my dog that could make my rabbit sick. I heard that K9 Advantix is bad for cats so I figure it would not be good for the rabbit...

Obedience performance and scratching
I am looking for any suggestions for giving my dog one day (or even a couple of hours) of itch relief so he can perform in obedience competitions. We just came from a show where he was four minutes and fifty seconds into a five minute down when he sat up and scratched resulting in a non-qualifying score...
