    my dog died

    hi guys my dog died a few days ago and i was just looking for some answers. he was playing in the yard acting healthy he just got a check-up and the vet said he was fine then i found him on the floor dead. i was just wondering if anyone knows what couldve happened to him, the vet said he had liquid coming out of his nose which means it was a heart or lung problem but the vet said his lungs and heart were fine a few days ago i thought it couldve been an aneurysm, if anyone has any answers it would be greatly appreciated. thanks!(and he  died instantly by the way)

    I am so sorry for your loss. It does sound like aneurysm, Is there any way they could check his body for an answer? Could he have gotten pneumonia? I know it doesn't always come on as cold symptoms sometimes just a fever. We're going through a loss as well with no apparent "illness/disease". Once again I am so sorry for your loss, i hope you can find some answers.

    yeah they can do an autopsy but we dont get him back if they do and i dont think he couldve gotten pneumonia and he also had asthma all his life so i thought it couldve been a lung thing but he wouldnt have died as fast as he did, anyone else got any clues, answers?

    My Kayla died instantly in the middle of the night from a hemmorage or blood clot in her pancreas.  This was right after a bout with the pancreatitis which caused the pancreas to be inflamed and sometimes inflamation of an organ like that can cause unforseen problems.  I would suggest getting a necropsy done, but seems like a blood clot or something.  A reporter in Iraq recently died instantly seeming perfectly healthy and after an autopsy they found that he developed a blood clot in his leg from sitting in tight quarters for a long period of time. Sometimes these things happen and are undetectable as unfair as that is.  Why cant you have his remains back when they are done to be creamated or buried?

    Im very sorry for your loss and I hope you find the answers you are looking for.

    thanks for the reply im pretty sure now that it was a blood clot and i dont know why we dont get him back after the autopsy it is the procedure they do in my state i dont think we were gonna get the autopsy done anyway because we dont want him to get cut open we just want his ashes here with us but anyways thanks for the support guys

    My deepest sympathies on this sudden loss. Our furkids are the world to all of us and know we are all here for you. I trust your little buddy is awaiting your reuniting at the bridge. Hugs and prayers to you and your family in this time of sorrow. Sudden or prolonged, the end of a bond is never wanted nor can we be really ready for it. Take some solace in that he felt no pain.

    I think the hardest thing for us humans is not knowing the WHY of things.  As I've aged, I've realized that the WHY isn't always as important as the WHAT....and learning to accept and deal with the what.

    I'm terribly sorry for your loss.  Prayers for peace coming your way.

    I'm so very sorry. What a terrible thing to happen,,,and to have it happen in that way, and so fast is really hard. I know, I lost my Mom that way!  BUT you can be at peace to know he didn't suffer and have to face some of the getting older problems and illnesses that so many of us have to suffer.  I guess if you really need to know why you can find out, if not, just be at peace with yourself for giving him a great life.
    It does sound like a blood clot,  but I have to ask if he had been put on any medications or got any shots or vaccines when he was at the vet last week. That is a concern to me...
    Some things are just meant to be.   Its the hard part about life!
    I'm so sorry.

       I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your precious boy. It is always painful when we lose our dogs, but to lose him so unexpectedly and without being able to say goodbye must leave a huge ache in your heart. Know that he is happy and healthy now and waiting for you at the bridge ;
