    Hurry help quick!

My dog jumped from my arms and hit his head on the concrete. These is no swelling or visible signs of injury but  he seems lethargic. He is a puppy and sleeps a lot so the tiredness isn't abnormal. Do you think he is fine what is usually the case and is there a number to call or something?

Check his pupil reflex with a flash light and check the color of his gums. Also, if he'll let you press your finger on his gums to check for the CRT, lightly depress the gum for a few seconds. Release and see how long it takes to turn pink again. It should be 1 - 1 1/2 seconds. Shorter or longer times are emergency's. An abnormal capillary refill time can indicate shock and is fatal if not treated immediately.

If you think this pup is acting AT ALL off, IN ANY WAY, get him to the emergency vet!!!!!!

Good luck and keep us posted.

"Lethargic" -- that's a go with your gut 'word' -- and if you think he's acting abnormal get him to an e-vet.  You won't get much advance notice if the brain is injured.

Im sorry that happened, you must be very worried!  You saw the fall... what do you think you should do?  Do you think it was bad enough to cause injury?  I would go to the e-vet just to be sure... I wouldnt want to lose him during the night or anything because of internal bleeding.  Good luck, keep us updated.

Just my opinion, but since he did hit his head, I'd take him to get checked out.

Well, what happened?  Did you go to the vet?  Did you wait it out?  How is he?
