Bone marrow
Posted to:
Nutrition & Exercise
Last night I bought 2 peices of frozen bone marrow. The marrow is still in the bone. My question is should I boil the bone first (to kill possible germs on it) before giving it to my dog? Should I take the marrow out of the bone? Or is it safe to just give him the frozen bone marrow? Thanks

It seems like every day when I go home for lunch, on my way to or from the office I see something SO unbelievably stupid. It never ceases to amaze me. This one was so unbelievable I HAD to share it with you guys. Here is my (pathetic) illustration: I am the Blue Square. I am waiting to turn...

Owner caused injuries vs groomer caused injuries
Posted to:
Health & Grooming
Has anybody ever seen a report of any kind about the number of home grooming injuries that require vet care vs the number of professional grooming injuries that require care? I know we'd all like to say that no injuries happen, but they do. I've seen some pretty nasty issues from owners grooming...

Shedding!!!!!!
Posted to:
Health & Grooming
As most of you know I own dals. Most dal owners (including myself) have adopted the saying "Dalmatians shed once a year for 365 days"! I am looking for a product to reduce shedding. I know there is something called Shed X and another product called Dinovite. I was hoping that someone else had...

Q about the Furminator
Posted to:
Health & Grooming
I was using the Furminator on my cat today and my mom told me that the reason you get so much hair off the animal was because it is nothing but a blade that cuts the fur. She said she asked the groomer and they told her this. I am having a very hard time believing this. I even tried it on a small section...

Hey! I just have a few questions for you guys...Have any of you tried your RR in agility? I was thinking of going to some agility classes with my pup when he gets a little older. I've had a few ridgebacks before, but i've never had any trained. Do the basic obedience classes work well for RRs...

Rotating foods

How many of you rotate between 2 or 3 (or more) dog foods? I don't mean daily, but more like every few months, do you switch say from Innova to Canidae and back to Innova to keep some variety in the dog's life? I am considering doing this with Zoe since she seems to like some change. Are...
