Progess With Sally?
Posted to:
Training & Behavior
Well, we went to our first session with our new trainer and I have to say it was encouraging. I told her about how Sally reacts when she sees other dogs and how she is fine with some dogs and snarky with others. The trainer brought her female GSD in. At first, Sally was acting like a total twit--whining...

I watched a documentary a while ago on a girl called Oxana Malaya, who was brought up by dogs since she was 3 years old. Her parents were alcoholics, there was no space in the house for everybody to sleep in, and so one night, the girl crawled in a kennel with dogs and that's how she spent most of...

Flea meds & seizures?
Posted to:
Health & Grooming
I'm curious. We have been in the dog business for over 25 years now and have had ample opportunity to see a wide variety of dogs throughout their lives. In the past 10 years or so we have had a number of dogs suddenly become epileptic as adults. Their vets were at a loss as to why the sudden adult...

toilet paper!
Posted to:
Training & Behavior
My dog is great. She doesn't chew on anything or get into anything, but she has a soft spot for toilet paper! For some reason, if we leave it out while were gone, she chews it up. Sometimes even eats it. I don't know if maybe she thinks she will use it later?LOL. Anyways, I just wondered why...

Do your dogs....make you laugh?
Posted to:
Training & Behavior
Do your dogs play tricks on each other? Do you think they have a sense of humor about life? Do they act silly to see if you'll laugh? I ask this because there's an excellent article in the AKC Gazette regarding dogs and their "sense of humor." So tell me people...what do your...

I am going to buy a Bodum Tea Press (unless anyone can recommend a better one...) I'd like to find a good online retailer of loose teas (even though I could pry myself away from my computer and go to Chinatown...) Any recommendations?

Mouthing Problem continuing....
Posted to:

I was in the CM section talking about how he handled mouthing, and I decided to start another thread about my mouthing Siberian. He was a shelter dog, found unneutered, at 1 year of age. He has no signs of abuse, not hand shy or anything. He seems to love everyone. He is not a dominant dog, but doesn't...
