toilet paper!

    toilet paper!

My dog is great. She doesn't chew on anything or get into anything, but she has a soft spot for toilet paper! For some reason, if we leave it out while were gone, she chews it up. Sometimes even eats it. I don't know if maybe she thinks she will use it later?LOL. Anyways, I just wondered why she does this. Or maybe it's revenge when I don't take her with me? She is great about everything else.

My dog is seven years old and finds shredding toilet paper to be a wonderfully fun activity! That's all it is; just plain fun. By this stage she only does it in front of us to try to entice us into chasing her. If she's eating it I'd be careful to not leave it out.

Not revenge. Boredom? My dog was awful with this when he was a puppy. His favorite trick was, when my mother was in the shower, to grab the end of the toilet paper roll from the master bathroom and run around her bedroom with it, eventually running out onto the balcony (no doubt so all the neighbors could admire his handiwork). Once we found some chew toys that he really enjoyed the TP chewing stopped - if you can get somethin that's more fun than even toilet paper, hopefully your pup will choose that! From a dog's point of view, I would guess that TP would be lots of fun since it's soft and makes a thrilling mess when shredded.

Yep. Find a nice HIGH shelf to put it on for the next long while. [:D]

ETA: Pirate will gladly trade in a kong full of goodies for a trash bag. I think some dogs just get hooked on certain things.

I was actually happy when she taught this to the somewhat fearful rescue. He's still not brave enough to steal it himself, but boy does he bark excitedly.

My dog used to do this too. We just left the bathroom door closed so she couldn't get at it, and now she doesn't seem to be interested in it anymore.

I have been putting it up now, but I think it's funny she picks that instead of one of her 100 toys.LOL[:D] She is too funny. She will tell on herself if she gets into it. I've walked in the door and she will be laying right there with here head on the floor and have her ears back. It's so funny! Until I have to clean it up.[:'(]

Catch her doing it and send it off to whoever does those Andrex adverts!

My cat is also OBSESSED with loo paper.  I've come downstairs in the morning to find her wrapped in tissue with her head poking out and her expression saying "Who, me??"  Too cute.

Remember this... It could be worse!

The first time I left my now 12 1/2 yr old shepherd/pitt mix home alone he shredded 36 rolls of toilet paper all over my entire house and too a 'poo' in my shoe.  And I mean literally IN my shoe.

O' NO. [sm=eek.gif] And to think of all the things you do for her. Shame on her.LOL[sm=no%20no%20smiley.gif]
Sierra is a very good dog. We haven't had any trouble out of her even when she was a puppy. Just the toilet paper issue!LOL[:D]

How about paper towels.?[8D] They aren't safe around the Bog...must be they have more texture then TP. I've learned to tuck them under the carseat or in a cupboard.

Are they Bounty paper towels? They do have more of a texture!!!LOL[:D]
