I'm probably going to buy a puppy that comes from a commercial breeder...
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
Here's why. For the past 25 years I have denied myself the companionship of a dog ( and I do love dogs) because I lived alone and worked full time. I was away from home 8-12 hours a day. I now work at home and can arrange my life to be gone no more than an hour or 2 during puppy-hood and generally...

Be careful having your dogs around the pool.

I feel like this is important issue to share many owners who have a swimming pool. My breeder lost her 10 months old dame to submersion injury from swimming in the pool with a lifejacket. She accidently swallowed too much water that filled her lungs. I use pool for my border collie to excerise his hips...

Has anyone here had experience teaching a prey-driven dog which animals are prey and which aren't? Like if, say, you wanted to have some barnyard animals and such?

Here we go again,,, bad dog law this time CA

Cross posting permitted. The American Kennel Club (AKC) opposes California AB 1634. You should too !!! If you allow the "animal rights" extremists to legislate the end of pet dogs and cats today, birds and other animals will surely be on the chopping block tomorrow..... AB 1634 WILL...

gas problem!!

Hello All, I have a silly and rather embarassing question for you all. Our 3 month old puppy bear seems to have some REALLY bad gas. I mean he will be in his crate and then all of a sudden here comes the rotten egg smell . We feed him good quality puppy food from the dog food center here in town....

Gram Update-Good news

Hi everyone. I just saw Gram for Easter and she's doing sooooo good. They switched the antibiotic that is being used to treat her infection in her hip long term. And, she's doing so much better on this one-the side effects of the other one were really causing her a lot of problems. She's...

Looking for couch....doggies first stain
Posted to:

So I noticed brown streaky bits on my new couch (patio sectional) this morning. BUT WAIT this is outdoor upholstery. So when I got home this evening I took a wet corner of towel with a bit of laundry detergent and scrubbed out the stain. Used a little color safe bleach on another corner of the same towel...
