We brush Jake, our collie/golden retriever mix daily. He is shedding clumps like crazy. Any suggestions on ways to cut down on the shedding? Does the furminator really work? What does it do?

Well, you may remember I posted that I purchased a new couch about 6 weeks ago, well..... It was delivered today and they could not get it into my building. It wouldn't fit in the elevator so the poor guys went up 4 flights of stairs and it wouldn't go around the corner, sigh..... Of course embarassing...

Our obedience trainer suggests we hold the leash close to the dog's head when training heal. Issue is, Jake is trying to eat the leash and clasp and jump and play with me while we walk! Any suggestions?
