Is your dog on the list and do you agree with the meaning?

Harley means wild spirited....he is lol!

My in-laws have a cocker, Sam, and he's a true companion dog, happy and loyal like it says.

    3. JAKE – Dogs named Jake are often fun-loving and happy dogs. They like to play and better yet – loved to sleep. They have that “boy next door” appeal.

Haha, I couldn't have picked a better one.

Nope, my dog's name isn't on there! I googled popular male dog names before getting my pup and made sure I didn't pick from the list lol. (edit: My vet already has a lady with my first and last name who also has a dog with the same name as mine. I didn't want to go through that again!)

I did almost go with Charlie though, that was my Grandpa's name, but figured it might offend my Grandma...I doubt she'd appreciate me naming my dog after her dead husband ;p

    8. CHARLIE – Charlie is a great dog name and is used on just about every breed, shape and size. Most “Charlie's” are warm-hearted loyal dogs with friendly personalities. They generally like to play and enjoy either fetching or chewing. Origin: German. The meaning is: Man; strong and masculine.

    Yep, it fits pretty good.

is it me, or did most of the meanings of those dog names mean the same thing, just worded differently?

Gizmo---"often small breeds that are busy."

Well Gizmo is busy/active, but he isn't small[;)].

I named him after the character in the Gremlins movie because he had a solid spot on his head and he would "talk" to me in the mornings.

I wanted to call him Fred, but it just didn't click with hubby. (Fred---Rogers, Flinstone and the guy in the Scooby Doo mysteries who always set Shaggy and Scooby up as bait and got to go someplace safe when the trap was sprung on the bad guy.)

    25. TUCKER – This is a fun name and many dogs with this name have colorful personalities. They may love to eat and very food motivated.

This does sound like my guy!

    1. MAX – Dogs named Max are generally happy dogs. They like to be petted and groomed and are considered fun-loving. They are very trustworthy companions. Some dogs named Max can be fiercely independent and work to keep their aggression under control. Origin: Latin. The meaning is: A Salmon Basin or large spring.

Of course, Max is first on the list! I actually didn't want to keep Max's name, since it is so common. But he answered so well to it, I couldn't bring myself to rename him. But the description is pretty spot on, except for the part about enjoying being groomed. Max puts up with it for a little while but I don't think he enjoys it. [sm=lol.gif]

    Weirdly accurate!!

My dog's name is on there! It's Jake, look, "Dogs named Jake are often fun-loving and happy dogs. They like to play and better yet – loved to sleep. They have that “boy next door” appeal." Cute huh?! Just like him, he loves to play and sleep!

Aww mine's not on the list. Gee, I wonder what the name "Rascal" says about the dog's personality?? [:D]

BAILEY – This is a great dog name. Dogs named Bailey are often loyal and good-natured. Most “Baileys” are very trainable. They are smart dogs, eager to please and respond well to obedience training if given the opportunity. Origin: English. The meaning is: Bailiff; Trusted Guardian.

That description sure fits my Bailey.  But here's the really funny part...my husband was with the Sheriff's Office for 30 years and he ran the jail for the last 8 years of his career.  Also his son's name (Grayson) means "son of the Bailiff".  I had no idea that Bailey meant "Bailiff" until I read this though.

    19. SAMMY – Dogs named Sammy are often sensitive dogs. They look as you as though they can read your soul. They are loyal and kind and have a fun side to their personalities. Origin: Hebrew. The meaning is: Heard by God or from Samantha – a “Listener”

    Definitely fits!!

Jake.... as said above... it does describe Jake.  However, we did not name him, his first owners did.  AND, it said it comes from Hebrew and means to replace something and Jake is an exact mix of BF's previous 2 dogs.  We got him because he misses them and wanted a big dog to play with.
