[ ]Hello everyone! I JUST found this section existed. I am not too new, but have really enjoyed reading some of the intros on here from folks I have been posting with for the past few months. It is nice to read a little more about them and I have met so many nice people on this forum.[8D] I live...

Telepathic dogs
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
I'm reading Dogs That Know When Their Owners are Coming Home by Rupert Sheldrake. It's about animal telepathy and really interesting, although I really just like reading the anecdotes and don't believe Sheldrake's morphic field explanation at all. Do any of your dogs know when you're...

I Dream of Gina
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
Gina, I had a dream with you in it last night! I dreamt that you were on every single message board I go on and if I ever told the same story on two different boards, you'd say, "I already read about that! Talk about something else!" How weird is that?

Half firm, half soft poo
Posted to:
Nutrition & Exercise
I read something about this from another poster in the General Q&A area and it made me realize Presley is the same way. It seems that in order for her to have a solid poo, it needs to wait all night until she goes in the AM. She eats (Innova Puppy) around 5pm, most nights she has a BM (soft, not...

Objective measures of food
Posted to:
Nutrition & Exercise
My question is, what objective measures can I use to judge my dog's health/performance on Brand A over brand B. Because for my dogs, it doesn't matter if they are eating Ultra-Premium, Premium, or Grocery-Store brands their demeanor/energy level/coat/poo stays pretty much the same. Likewise,...

Training an adopted 5 year old
Posted to:
Training & Behavior
My husband and I recently adopted a 5 year old Basset Hound/Dashund mix. She is sweet tempered and very mild mannered. I understand that there is an adjustment that she is going through right now being in a new home. She is very timid and shy when we call her and rarely wags her tail. When I tell her...

Go back to basic 1, go to basic 2, or what?
Posted to:
Nutrition & Exercise
Presley is 10 MO now, she went to basic obedience class when we she was about 5 months old. I think it served more to socialize her then teach her obedience but since both my wife and I took her to class we were able to teach her the basics on our own time and by the end of class she was pretty good...

rescue dogs
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
We have an extremely frightened female rescue Lab as a foster dog, the most upset (but not aggressive) dog I have ever known. We have also rescued her brother who's had similar problems but has improved greatly in three months. I'd love to be in touch with other rescue foster moms.

Switching from gentle leader to chest harness
Posted to:
Training & Behavior
My dog has just about out-grown her gentle-leader. We were thinking of getting a chest harness, though, instead of another gentle leader. We've had great results, but everyone thinks our dog is muzzled, and since she's a pit, people then assume she's vicious. My question is, we're still...

Sunday Crackhead Action!!

Let's start off with Shelby. For some strange reason, she was hiding out in her crate. She usually does this when she knows she's done something bad. I don't know what she did but I'm sure I'll find out sooner or later. I'm convinced that God has made her look sweet so I won't...
