Posted to:
News & Entertainment
Earlier this year, the lady who fostered Brown many years ago emailed me about a pittie, Pablo, she had found. He was in horrible shape....skin sores...sagging skin...heartworms, etc. This morning, she emailed me with new "after" pics. He looks amazing! His skin condition has cleared, he's...

Breast calcification *UPDATE*
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
My mom found out today that she has to get a calcification (sp?) in her breast biopsied. I don't know what that means. I do know her mother, my grandmother, died from breast cancer when my mom was in her 20's, before I was born. So we, as a family are very touchy about breast cancer. So what...

Training Books
Posted to:
Nutrition & Exercise
Right now, I've been training Bran about half positive, and half "negative," and I'd really like to switch to all-positive, but I want to do it RIGHT so she will be reliable (as best she can). Does anyone have any all-positive great training/behavior books they'd recommend?

Canindae ALS or Platinum or Both?
Posted to:
Nutrition & Exercise
OK, here's the deal. Right now, I'm feeding Canidae Platinum to our 12 1/2 year old Dal, Blackhawk, because I believe the Canidae ALS aggravated his colitis/pancreatitis. Blackhawk's digestion is great on Platinum, but now that we have him on thyroid replacement, I can't get the weight...

Dog brings you a 'prize' - why?
Posted to:
Training & Behavior
We have a rescue dog, we think a chihuahua-Jack Russell terrier mix. We've had him nearly 4 months, 2 months prior to that with SPCA, year before that probably a "dumpster dog". His name is Caesar. What I'm curious about is that often he will bring a toy to me, want me to pick him up...

Puppy feeding question
Posted to:
Nutrition & Exercise
Hi, Our now 11 week old puppy Misty was started off on the Nutro Natural balance puppy food, and I started transitioning her over the Canidae about 8 days ago. (we have had her three weeks) When I took her for shots today, the vet went on and on about how bad this food must be if it's an "all...

In a Wolf's Stomach
Posted to:
Nutrition & Exercise
I was in a book store the other day and saw this book on Gray Woves. Hubby loves wolves, so i was glancing thru it and saw this one paragraph about what was found in the stomach of one wolf--an ear, lip, 2 larges pieces of meat, liver, kidneys, esophagus (?) and stomach of an elk. Now I don't know...

I need help with my barking dog...
Posted to:
Training & Behavior
I have always known that Daisy was a barker.. to me that is part of her being a dog. Well recently there was a new neighbor who moved in who is causing waves about my dog barking. She only barks as people are passing by, not aggressively but just barking. With the exception of this little old lady who...

How long is this good?
Posted to:
Nutrition & Exercise
I bought some Entr`ee for dogs from Three Dog Bakery to use as a topping on her kibble. I only use about 1 and 1/2 teaspoons at a time. Its a 12 oz. package. I assume it is like canned dog food. How many days would this stay good in the refrigerator?

I just gotta new little boy! I am more here to show him off, lol, but am really curious what you think he has in him? His name is Chase, and he is very sweet and tender. Very much like my other girl, Trinity. He is 1 year old, and neutered. He is a little tiny bit overweight, the vet said, and right...
