Breast calcification *UPDATE*

Thanks guys. It's good to read all the good stories about people who have made it through. I KNOW my mom will beat it, she's the strongest lady I know.

I'll chime in and say that I know at least THREE women who have beat breast cancer!

I've known two women that had breast cancer and theirs was the worst case, where they had complete mastectomies. And they still, and I do emphasize, still, are the most vibrant, active women you could hope to know. Nothing in life stops them. They take on new things and you can't intimidate or scare them. What can you do, kill them? Been there, done that. But what's important, is that the illness was removed and they did and do, live quite well afterward. And I don't mean "great, she's finally out of a wheelchair." I mean they run, one of them is a dynamite ball room dancer in her spare time (got into doing it with her granddaughter). That is, they didn't just survive, they thrive. And that is what will happen for your family.

Sorry to hear of the diagnosis - I know it is frightening.  I have two good friends who are survivors of Stage 3 breast cancer - one for better than 10 years now.

I'm wishing your Mom the same strength, luck and fortitude!

Wow, really sorry to hear of the diagnosis.  Rest assured, as others mentioned, todays treatments are not what they used to be.  They tailor cancer treatments to every patient.  I had a relative go through it and other than a bit of fatigue and hair loss, you'd never this person was undergoing cancer treatments.

My prayers go out to you and your mom.

    Thanks again, guys...

I just got back into my hometown, but I haven't gone to my mom's. Too much of a wuss, I think. I'll go tomorrow.

I was just wondering how you were Megan, at least you're keeping your sense of humor (the bicycle thread!).

Yeah, it happens a lot. I have been known to laugh and cry at the same time.

You know, it's okay for you to say "hey mom, I love you and I'm really scared".   She will appreciate that and I'm sure she's scared too.  The important thing is that, with your love and support, she will get through this.  She probably just wants to know that people are there for her right now.  We're all here for you too [:)]
