chewing up everything in sight?

Hello all. 1st time poster. Anyway, I have a Chocolate Lab/Boxer mix. I've had her for 3 months, and she is about 20 mos. old. This past week, everytime I leave her alone, even for 5 minutes, she destroys something. At first, she got a loaf of bread off of the kitchen counter and ate the entire...

how did you train your dog?
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
how did you (obedience) train your dog? did you attend classes, work with a pro trainer at home or read up on books and did it yourself? if obedience classes aren't available, what do you think is the next best thing for a first-time dog owner who wants to teach the basic sit-stay-down-come commands...

Digestive aids for Sofia's Skinny Sister
Posted to:
Nutrition & Exercise
I was shocked by how thin Athena was, and what poor condition she was in. Of course my son and his girlfriend were feeding Purina One, and that is going to stop ASAP. I've tried to find a place that has Eagle Pack in Albuquerque, but no one seems to carry it. [sm=sad.gif] Since Athena is Sofie's...

I read on another post that you feed your Shih Tzu raw. I have two and I feed mine raw as too. They LOVE IT and it has really made their coats shinny and beautiful! I was wondering if you've tried the Nature's Variety Prairie Freeze Dried diet. I noticed when I give it to my 5 month old that...

What should I get Max?
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
Max's gotcha day is coming up (May 21 to be exact, anyone who wants to come is invited to his party) and i'm trying to decide what to get for him. Maybe a bed, but probably won't use it, maybe another kong or two, or a toy. Any ideas on what he might want?

Cooked Pork Chop Bones?
Posted to:
Nutrition & Exercise
Good morning, last night my family had pork chops for dinner and there was some debate as to whether or not we could give her the leftover bones from the porkchops. They were cooked in the oven and still had some meat left on them. Is it ok to give her the leftover bones or is it some kind of choking...

To Crate Train or not?

Training & Behavior
Well, I just got my new puppy this past Friday. He is 10-weeks old and a bundle of love. I'm still debating if I should crate train or not. What are other benefits other than housebreaking? And does it speed up the housebreaking training? This is the set-up I currently have: I have a...

The "new improved" Wellness
Posted to:
Nutrition & Exercise
Ok, so who has experience with the new and improved wellness? I was just surfing along today and noticed they said their formulas had better taste and are more digestible, decreasing stool volume. When I tried Wellness twice, the problems I had were: urine pH was too high, it produced a pH of 7.4...

Wesley loves them, but doesn't guard them, which makes them the perfect chew bone for him (ie - to keep him happy and busy chewing)... Do they provide any of the benefits that a RMB does for teeth and dental health though?

My dog jumped from my arms and hit his head on the concrete. These is no swelling or visible signs of injury but he seems lethargic. He is a puppy and sleeps a lot so the tiredness isn't abnormal. Do you think he is fine what is usually the case and is there a number to call or something?

I give my three dogs in the evening, a 16 oz. can of carrots(rinsed) divided three ways and a tbls. of fat free vanilla yogurt each. I call it desert and they go wild for it. My question is what other canned veggies could I use in place of the carrots?
