    What should I get Max?

Max's gotcha day is coming up (May 21 to be exact, anyone who wants to come is invited to his party) and i'm trying to decide what to get for him. Maybe a bed, but probably won't use it, maybe another kong or two, or a toy. Any ideas on what he might want?

mak him a smelly dog food cake! Just mold up some really nasty smelling canned liver and fish, etc into a cake pan and freeze. Top it with yogurt or cottage cheese frosting and write Happy Home Day on top. I would get him a decadent treat like a huge bag of chicken fillet treats and a new stuffie to kill. Mine always gets a new durabone and a box of biscuits fom the cat. (th eone time of the year, other than Christmas, that she is really nice to him)

Top it off with a goofy party hat and you have it made! Have  great time and take photos!

I think Max wants tripe for his gotcha day:) And Jack Mackrel. And liver!

Hmmmmmmmm.  This has potential.  How about a visit from Grrrady for his gotcha day & a RMB????

Skip the bed, that's more for our pleasure![:D]

I second the smelly dog food cake! Max will be in heaven. And food is always a good choice. Maybe take him on an extra long, adventurous walk.

I'm not sure how much I would enjoy the smelly cake. He likes water ice, and he likes walking to get water ice, so maybe we'll have to do that.
The bed actually might be for his benefit. When he comes in and he's really hot, he lays on the concrete basement floor.  I thought he might be more comfy on one of those cot style beds.
Annie, of course Grady is invited, well, except I really can't invite you to the house because Millie wouldn't like that, so it would have to be somewhere else (grrr.. now that makes me more pissed off that they put a lock on the roller hockey court that we used to take the dogs to run in). He gets a bone quite often, so that's not very special.

Ya know, i've been trying to explain the importance of this to some of my friends, and they just don't seem to get it.

In our family we always wrapped up a handful of dry catfood in wrapping paper and let the dogs tear it open on Christmas. Could work for birthdays, too. Cat food is a NO NO thing, so it was oh-so-special, Dog Candy!

No, we don't wrap up the cat food AFTER the cats had it.....though the dogs think THAT is Dog Candy, too.[;)]

If Max likes cold water, I know he must like ice cubes. Here's a favorite around here. Fill an ice cube tray half full. Freeze. Then put a dab of peanutbutter on each cube and fill with more water and freeze again. I keep these on hand for hot Goergia afternoons. Liz

Liz, while I do think he would like that (so would I actually, but we have no ice cube trays), I wonder if you are confused about what water ice is. I think it's just called that around here, and perhaps you would know what I was talking about if I referred to it as Italian Ice.
