Choosing A Dog
This is a dog that turned up at my parent's house last Christmas. They live in a very rural area, and this guy stayed in the fields "lurking" for a couple of days. While I was there, Dad & I were able to coax him to come up to us. The pictures don't show it well , but the hair on...

Hide-A-Toys
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
I'm about to order some toys off of dog.com, but I cannot find the Hide-A-Bird or Hide-A-Bee on it at all, just the replacement sets. I saw them in the catalog, so I figured they would be on the website. Can anyone direct me to them? Also, if I get the Hide-A-Squirrel, what size do you think would...

Dog fixated on foster mom
Posted to:
Training & Behavior
We have been looking for a dog from rescues and shelters for a while. One that I saw early on is still not adopted and one reason is she is totally fixated on her foster mom while at adoption events. She's an adult GSD mix and sounds (on paper anyway) like a great match for our family. She will...

changing from puppy to adult food
Posted to:
Nutrition & Exercise
I have two small dogs, one 10 months and one 5 months. The older is due to change over to adult food and I've been trying to get him to eat it, but there's just no way. I've separated them while feeding for a while, but he wasn't eating it at all. The vet suggested of course, to mix in...

Building Agility Equipment

My beagle and I started training a bit for agility recently, and it seems that we need some more obstacles. Currently I have 5 single bar jumps, a tire jump (but I hate it because if Carley barely hits it, the tire falls down) a chute/tunnel (3 ft. tunnel and I keep the chute on it) pause box, and weave...

Puppy jumps on women... establishing role as alpha
Posted to:
Training & Behavior
My 6 month puppy jumps on women but not on men. I think this is weird. At first I thought it was just that she jumped on me and not on my husband but this week I've noticed it seems that she is much more jumpy with women. Any ideas? Do you think it is a tone of voice thing? My husband is away...
