Posted to:
Training & Behavior
Hi, We have 2 Weimaraners (ages 3 and 6) and an 11 year old Cocker Spaniel. The older Weimie and the Cocker could care less about a new puppy, but the 3 year old Weimie is quite disturbed!! We got an 8 week old female weimie puppy today. Any suggestions on the best methods to introduce the new pup to...

Bittersweet day.

Last night as I was walking Romeo, I saw someone throw something out of the car and speed off. My heart immediately told me it was a dog, and indeed it was. Romeo went ballistic and the dog did not even try to move so I knew something was up. I took Romeo home as fast as could and went back, I came across...

Where's the Husky?
Posted to:
Choosing A Dog
Hello! I thought I would introduce myself and ask a question. I completely stole "huskador" from a post I once saw. I have a lab/husky mix (according to the note left with him when he was dumped at the humane society), but I don't see the husky. Do you?

Invisibal Fences- shock!
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
Just wondering what thoughs are on invisable fences. There are two type I know about one is where you dig a wire around you house where you want the fence and the other is determined by the distance the dog travels from the reciver. When the dog crosses the line where the invisiable fence is, the collar...

Too soon for adult food?
Posted to:
Nutrition & Exercise
At what age can Liz begin to eat adult food? I currently have her on Exclusive Chicken and Rice for Puppies (yay for me, no more Beneful!) but the feed shop where I purchase it has the adult food Lamb and Rice and Chicken and Rice. Is it too soon to switch her over? I just want to give her some variety...

Mosquitos

The mosquitos are terrible this year! Is anyone else having problems with them? I went outside with Maggie for a little bit this evening, and when i came back i had several mosquito bites on my arms, legs and neck. Poor maggie had a few too, including one on the side of her head. I wish i had put on...

Just got back from the CT police k9 olympics, and of course I took pictures. Not many thought, I just found out the event was today, and didn't have time to charge the camera batteries completly. There were a few new dogs there, and this year's course was a lot better too. Well here are the...

Lethargy

Little Misty is very lethargic this week. She's eating and drinking and pooping fine, but just isn't her usual self. Am trying to figure out why, here's the two things that I've come up with: I gave her her heartworm treatment on Sunday, could that make her feel lousy? She's...

So as some of you know I just moved to a new place. Rory is adjusting a heck of a lot better then I anticiapted. She is ecstatic about her new yard and I have to drag her inside at bedtime which I've never had to do before. I'm still a lil nervous to leave her there alone for long but things...

Is my dog Crazy???
Posted to:

Okay, I have to ask a sort of stupid question! We have had dogs ever since I was a little girl and none of them have behaved this way (it's not bad just odd) We have an almost 6 month old puppy who is lovable and very cute but has some "odd" traits. Like, when she is playing she will...

'Failure to Communicate' housetraining problem, help!

Training & Behavior
I just adopted a female Collie/Shekie mix from a local shelter. They estimated she is about 6 months old, in the few days I have had her she seems like a very smart dog. Also she is very affectionate and I think rather insecure, its hard to get her more than a few feet from me. My household includes...
